| Recently installed W2K on a CUSL2-C MB. After several experiments with triboot and Quadboot setups, i decided to simplify things with just a dual boot setup with WinME, and W2K. I didnt have any problems with W2K until this last setup. For some reason (still undiscovered) the monitor wont come out of standby. I have enabled/disabled all DPMS features in the bios. I have the power settings in the control panel set to just shut off the monitor after 1 hr. I did a little test and set it up so that the monitor would shut off after 1 min, and i was able to wake the system up. This was done with all the DPMS disabled in the BIOS. I am running the latest bios for the MB (1003), and the monitor and Video card as well. Anyone else have this problem? |

| Now that you mention it. I actually had the same problems a couple of times this month. Didn't have the time to troubleshoot it. I suppose fiddling with the bios and windows settings should do the trick but like I said, didn't have the time for it yet. I would like to hear a sollution though....

| Well looks like the OpenGL screensaver was at fault. I went back to using the W2K Video adapter, and monitor drivers. After reinstalling the W2K driver for the Video adapter, i noticed that my screen saver wouldnt come on. I went in to change the screen saver properties, and i got an error if i chose any of the OpenGL screensavers except 3D Maze and 3D Pipes. Heres the error from the error log: The application, sstext3d.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 02/14/2001 @ 01:11:10.835 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 0211CA98 (<nosymbols>) Not sure what caused this, but i can live without the OpenGL screensavers, as long as i dont have to reboot every time im away from the PC for more than an hour. |
