It really is great. Just the sheer scope of the world, and it is all completely different! It is a world, and you are just dropped in it. I think the one thing that would have made it even better was a day-night cycle for inhabitants. Unfortunately, I remember reading a developer quoted as saying the engine pushed the envelope as it was and a day-night would have pushed it too far.

That would have indeed been pretty cool. As it is we'll just have to accept the fact that Vvarvendell is the continent that never sleeps. ...Maybe a coffee shop mod would be in order...

I read in the strategy guide that its sometimes safer to sleep in the woods because assasins come while you sleep in town sometimes (already killed one). How can you do that? In town,I can click on the bed properties and choose how long to sleep, but I can't find out how I can make myself sleep when in woods. It may be handy too...especially when my health is low so I can recoupe.

I sleep in the woods all the time. Actually I do both. But put a sword in your hand before you sleep in town and take out the assassin when he appears and then go back to sleep. Pick his pockets in the morning.

I'll sign up as long as I don't have to attend weekly meetings out of town.

This game truly impressed me when it came out. the idea of the free form play appealed to me. on my first character, i played over 300hrs without following the main storyline. i only touched base with the main story's contact to get some starting money and then i ignored the story and found my own quests and path through the world. i figured i only covered about half of the world in all my 300hrs and still had room to advance. there was still a lot to do. in fact, i've gone back with different characters and have as of yet to play the main story arc. how's that for a game? i read somewhere when this first came out that the world is equivalent in size to a man walking around the state of new york. i was very impressed with the gameplay. imho, it's the best freeform game i've ever played. there's a lot of value here.

Of all the games I have ever been aware of, MORROWIND does take the number 1 spot for game dollar value. No doubt.
