| Battlefield Bad Company impressions Who else has this game? I got the gold edition for the PS3. Unfortunately there is not a PC version. I love the PC version of the Battlefield series. I have only played this game once this week so far (Tuesday) but I found 720p to be not as crisp as playing on my PC at 1600x1200. I have a Sony 46" HDTV that’s supports up to 1080p so I know I'm good to go from a hardware standpoint. But I'm disappointed that it isn't as clear as playing on my PC. The other complaint is I love the PC WASD/Mouse combination. There is no other gaming control like it in my opinion, consoles just don’t compare. I will be buying the PC version if EA comes out with one. Questions; 1) Would a HDMI to DVI conversion to use my PC monitor help? 2) Playing the game Im all over the place and cant focus while trying to find my target using the PS3 controller, I get wasted pretty quickly. 3) I cant figure out how to lay down or talk. 4) Best way to use PSE audio through my PC used as per below specs. Thoughts?

re: your question about the HDMI to DVI conversion: it might. The quality of HDMI is as good as DVI but the quality of the monitor versus TV could be the difference in this case. 1080p is 1920x1080 which should be comparable to 1600x1200, so if its showing a big difference then maybe its due to your monitor have a very small dot pitch, or pixels per inch, or it may have better focus. Also, the other big issue is upscaling, what is the native resolution of the game output by the PS3? Is it 720p or 1080p? I would hope its 1080 but usually they are only 720. If its 720p then the PS3 is upscaling (by software), which is going to degrade the image compared with your PC gaming, I expect.

| Re: Battlefield Bad Company impressions The native resolution is 720p. I think FPS are better with a kb/m. I hope they either come out with a PC version or somehow I can get a PS3 kb/m to work for this game on the PS3.

| Re: Battlefield Bad Company impressions I took my HDMI cable out of my PS3 and plugged it into a HDMI to DVI converter to use on my PC monitor and I was not able to get video to my PC monitor. In the menu that my monitor dispays it read 1280x720. 720p is the native resolution of BF:BD but I was not able to see the game. Any ideas what the problem is?

Plut it back into your TV and let it reset itself to the lower resolution for the TV then turn the PS3 off. Disconnect it from your TV, then connect it to your monitor with the HDMI/DVI cable. The PS3 dashboard should appear on your monitor using the resolution that matched your TV. It will appear large and blurry and it will detect the HDMI connection. Choose NO. Then manually change it to 720p in the display settings/output settings menus. (You can test a few resolutions until you get one that works well).
