I'm back into Oblivion again!!!

I took a few months off due to my Mom visiting me during the summer and starting a new job in September, so I didn't have the time...

one nice new change is the fact that HDR and AA can now be enabled at the same time using the official Catalyst drivers...and it definitely makes a noticable difference...I did a comparision and definitely notice a lot less jaggies with AA turned on, especially if you look at a really close tight shot of characters faces you'll see lots of jaggies with AA turned off but with it on the jaggies almost all are gone

Oblivion got even better looking!!

So what do you consider are the "good" sigil stones to get?

I selected to get Feather sigil stones and Chameleon sigil stones. Don't use the Chameleon things I made because I prefer to use Invisable spells. The Feather armor I made I use all the time.

So what sigil stone should I bring back with me next time I go to the Planes of Obliviuon?

I'm a Breton. So with the Mundane Ring I am immune to all magic. What do you use the Fortify Strength for?

Is there a choice? It's always struck me as catch as catch can. Crash a gate, take what you get.

Sounds like you don't know (yet) how to select the sigil stone you want.

Step one is to get to level 17 which is the minimum level to receive a Transcendent sigil stone. Step two is save your game before you activate the sigil stone to escape Oblivion. Don't like what you got? Then reload. I always get the exact stone I want.

"...save your game immediately before first picking up the sigil stone. You can then repeatedly try grabbing the stone; as soon as the message about the stone appears on your screen (before being teleported back from Oblivion), you can check your inventory and see which one you have obtained."

I like fortify strength because it actually allows you to get your strength way past 100.

This allows you to carry a lot more stuff like feather does (I am kind of pack rat - saving those weapons just in case - but I don't use them). But it also increases fatigue, and increases melee damage.

Thanks for the tip but I like to be surprised and live with the results.

I am really enjoying Oblivion and my second run-through. With all the official add-ons and the phenomenal user mods I've installed the game experience is a lot more interesting that it was the first time I played.
I installed almost all of the "Ten Essential Mods" from GameSpy's list - Francesco's Leveled Creature/Item Mod is fantastic and the Elven Cartographer's Map is beautiful - and the game is much better than it was at its initial release.

Yep. I've been meaning to get that one.

At the moment I carry the Goblin Totems in inventory and they treat me as their Shaman. My buddies the Goblins. Don't know if that behavior will stay after the mod.
