As far as gold is concerned, I made about 5K on the arena. It was pretty easy IMO...

I am grand champion, but I went back to fight animals. I just fought three at once and made 570 gp. It was tough, but my FPS shooter skills are accultely honed to this game's fighting system.. LOL
Haven't been into any arena, I assume you have to be a member of the fighers guild. I am so I'll probably have to talk to some of those dudes there.... I need money bad because there are too many great things you can buy with them.

No, don't need to be a member of the fighters guild. Just go to the arena district in the imperial city, and join up.

I just kind of used a cheap way to get one of the best swords in the game at level 7-8.

Spoiler:
Southwest of the Imperial City along the moat, there is a mine called Vinsadel, inside there is a woman know as Umbra. She is carrying some really nice gear. If you pick pocket her, and she notices, she will follow you to fight you. She should be walking after you, not running. You can lead her into a trap with the spikes about 10-15 times and she dies and you can get some Ebony armor and a nice enchanted sword.

You guys are making me so jealous. I wanna play so bad. I haven't had the extra funds to pick up Oblivion yet but I just received my best buy reward zones certificates so I'll be getting it this weekend for sure.

For those who got the CE, was it worth it?

I just got the normal version of the game. It came with a dvd and a book that described different spell groups and the skills and speechcraft pretty much everything you need to play the game. I'm not sure what all is in the extended manual.

Having most of the day off I played about seven hours today.
Bethesda games are the most addictive substances known to man.

I have the CE version... It comes with a replica coin (pretty worthless IMHO unless you can fool someone at a grocery market to take it for change) and a map of the entire playing area and a 122+ book with details and stories about Oblvion.

It also comes with a bonus DVD with "the making of"... will be great to watch although I haven't yet.

Since it only cost me 3 euro extra compared to the regular edition I didn't have to think twice.

Comes in a pretty nice small CE box too (you know, more or less like the LOTR ext. edition box..).

Hehehe... I hear ya'.... I really have to pull myself away from the computer each nite... I'm working half days right now but I'm starting to suffer from problems with my right wrist....

Aside from KOTOR 1 and 2 and probably NWN this is probably in my top 5 of greatest games of all time. I love it.

All the people complaining about issues: I find that it is a pretty polished and bug free game... I can't remember a game that plays with soo few flaws when it is just released. I'm sure my crashing problems are caused by some driver issue.

Would still like to see more quickslots though, 8 is reallly not enough. Would want to have 1-8 for magic items, 1-8 for spells, 1-8 for swords/gear, etc...

But talking about value for money, this game is worth every $0.01. Where can you can so much fun for a mere 47 euros.

Does anyone know a better way to charge magical items other than the soulstones? Almost all my gear is magical, but I can't seem to get enough of the soulstones to charge.

I want to say I heard a shop somewhere can do it, but I cannot rememeber//

You can do it in the mages guild I think, talk to one of the characters. Either they offer training, nothing or to recharge your items.

If it's not the mages guild it may also be just the armor shops around the towns..

I think when they are able to repair an item to 100% it also recharges the magical part of it.
