Dang I need to get there so I can buy the Expert Salvage kit. I did get my hands on one though. A bud of mine warped there and bought it and sold it to me for face value(yea no mark up). I did 7 Charr hides and not one stinking fur(I know they are rare). Do you know if there is anything else that gives Fur besides the Charr Hides? Anyhow I was so close I think to the Courthouse, but got ambushed by a bunch of Plague and Carrion Devourers(within view of a Entrance and died

Wahooo I made it to the courthouse and then I tried to make it to Yaks End.. what PITA that was. Note to other players. Do not always stop and kill everything. I have never seen so many enemies on the screen at one time(Boulder Elemenatlists, and Hydras!) but somehow I managed to make it to Yaks end(litrally limping into the city). My stats were down 47% from dying a few times, and I did not want to restart that all over again!

How is this game if you only wish to play PvE solo or in a group? I don't care for PvP at all.

Anyone able to give some more opinions about how this compares with WoW?
Which is more fun do you think?

PvE options are very good...you are offered the opportunity of forming a party with either other live players or a number of different AI "henchmen".Obviously the live players will offer a more "customized" set of partners, as the number of variable abilities in the game are multitudinous. Thus far I have made it probably 3/4 0f the way through the map (could have done more side quests I'm sure) without using many "live" partners at all (other than Arutha (Drex Deathaxe ingame ) ...the henchmen do quite well, although i have read that as one approaches the highest levels, this becomes more difficult.

I was very surprised actually, at the quality of the single player experience, as the game was so highly touted for PvP (which I will try when I have run at least 1 char through thev full game). Seems to be easy to hook up with others ingame, so give us a shout if you like.

Bottom line...recommended highly for PvE

I have read about 5-6 reviews on this game ...none have been below 9 out of 10.

Both are fun, but are VERY different zap.

WoW to me is the ultimate evolution of the MMORPG...Blizzard has taken most of the proven aspects of the genre and put them into a rather graphically unique world that, while not eliminating the "grind" for levels, has certainly placed it in an enjoyable venue with a lot of opportunity for interaction with others, if one so chooses, or for solo "questing". It can be played for long stretches or jumped into for a brief foray, a quality which appeals to many of our busy members I am sure. Like most in this genre, attention must be paid to the "addictive" nature of the gameplay......don't forget to eat or go to work .

Guild Wars is NOT a MMORPG in the traditional sense..it's not so much about the leveling as it is about the refinement of the characters and gameplay. Easy to learn...hard to master. While PvE is worth the price of admission alone (NO monthly fees btw...although I don't consider fees a dealbreaker since I play WoW as well), I believe that the PvP aspect will be what keeps me playing. Graphically this game is at least as good-looking as WoW, but in a very different way.

Both games have gotten stellar reviews on the net, If I had to choose one, I would pick..................aaaaggghhh!...I dunno? If you get both and are married, consult with a divorce lawyer or buy two copies....your evenings will be history.....

Ok, I came across this site today looking for some Guild War conversions on what to sell Items for and how to get certain items. This looks like it will be a good resource tool to use for this game. Though with it being a forum, you may not like it.

More screenies from this game. This is from the Iron hills Mine area up North. Sorry Count, but after seeing these I predict you break down and go get the game. I'm pretty sure my wife is PO'd with me on this game, since I am not getting much yard work down around the place

Hey Wingit we need to team up and explore more of this area, I think there might be some good stuff there. I have just been using the henchmen(I don't like sharing the loot with people I don't know) and I went pretty far into that area. I also was able to salvage a Steel Ingot from some Dwarven Armor, now to sell it and get some gold! =)

i haven't seen this area yet. i've also been using henchmen, and the AI has been better than i expected. the only complaint i have with henchmen is that they're low level. my toon is almost 10 and the henchmen i explore with are all level 3.

If you make it Yaks End or Piken Square the henchmen get to levels 6 for Piken and level 8 for Yaks End. One of the best strategies to use in the game to get to places is doing the primary quests. I don't know how much time I would have saved if I would have done it that way instead of trying to march my way upto Yaks End. I'm surprised with how far some of these people are on this game. Its been out for a few weeks and they are already level 20. I'm still at level 12. Anyhow great game and I love it.
