| Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - GOLD This fall is full of phenomenal titles and I'm almost starting to get overwhelmed thinking about whether or not I'll get a chance to play any of them between work, school, and social. Clear Sky, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Wrath of the Lich King (there goes my GPA), Spore, Wolfenstein, and I think I heard a Star Wars game was coming out soon too...

It looks really good, though...and since my wife has an XBox 360 perhaps she'll let me play on it.

"Luke is the most powerful Jedi in history. And yet up against the Emperor Luke gets jazzed with Force lightning and all he can do is cry for his daddy." Luke is supposed to be even more powerful then Sidious yet Sidious easily kicked his *** in ROTJ...I always rationalized it as Luke purposely did not fight back against Sidious in order to turn Vader back into a good guy and the only way to do that was to have him save Luke and kill Sidious another valid point from the article: Why does Palpatine manage to carve up so many top-ranking Jedi’s when they come to arrest him? They look like they’d had no training in sword-fighting at all those were some bad *** Jedi that came to arrest him and they did not even get one good lick in against Sidious...Lucas totally ruined that scene by making those Jedi look so pathetic (except for Mace Windu)...they either should have let Mace go to arrest him by himself, let all the Jedi put up a decent fight against Sidious or have Sidious use some crazy Force power to wipe out the Jedi---not some weak saber moves which totally punked out the Jedi

| Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - GOLD I wonder if CS is going to be released down here first as they did with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?

| First Impressions I'm back in the Zone! Its changed a bit... seems to be a little more lively...Ok, it starts off like Shadow of Chernobyl did... dont know who I am or how I got here... I've been to the bar... bartender is friendly... the scientists/leaders of the group are a little intense.... install went ok, patched ok... voice acting is cr*p... but dialog has been informative... although not very interesting... Graphics are beautiful! Not Crysis beautiful but STALKER beautiful if you know what I mean... LIghthing effects are the best I've seen... I like it... this game is killing my new rig tho- getting around mid 20's to high 20's most of the time - thats with everything maxed out with Dx10 except for AA which is on the first notch, 2x?, and Aniso which is about 70%, I've also switched off depth of field (I dont like it much). 1680x1050. It feels smooth and very playable although controls are slightly laggy, but not too laggy, its ok The PDA has been nicely upgraded!... The action has been thick and fast - very good actually, AI is excellent. Not much in the way of stealth and there are lot of NPC's around ... that sense of "being on your own" is not present... more like being part of a team. Hopefully there will be some stealth missions later on. Hunting for anomalies seems very difficult now... dont know if I hate it or like it yet... So far it reminds me of the latter levels of Shadow of Chernobyl - lots of action... not much in the way of eerie atmosphere... just to repeat: the graphics are stunning... levels are big - very big - it feels roomy... Dogs can see... dont know how to equip artifacts yet... need to upgrade my weapons... i'm only at the beggining with the CS faction and fighting off bandit raids trying to achieve objectives... pace is fast, like a CoD game... Hope there is some variety ahead because the pace is grueling... Prospects are excellent! I proceed...

| after reading a few reviews, one thing that really bothers me about the game is the fact that bandits can now steal all your hard earned loot with no way of getting it back...this would not be so bad if it weren't so difficult to obtain these suits/armor/cash in the first place...apparently even if you kill the bandit who stole your stuff immediately after the theft, he will not have the loot on him anymore (even more corny!) plus the fact that there is no dialogue option which warns you makes it even more irritating...apparently if you get too close to one of these bandits they automatically steal your stuff...the game should at least give you a dialogue option when the bandit approaches to either---fight, surrender or something in between...but to just rip you off with no warning whatsoever is a terrible design decision only put in to make the game artificially difficult my idea of a good game is not having to hit 'Quick Save' every 5 seconds

| called up my local GameStop and apparently the game has been pushed back to September 15th! last week when I called the store they said it would be in stock on Sept 9th weird thing is that Steam still lists the game as being available on Sept 6th...but no pre-loads are available leading people to speculate that they too will be delaying the release...if so why are they waiting until the last minute to announce this?

| Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - GOLD Well the swamp is a scary place at night... I'm wandering around with not much clue as to what I'm exactly supposed to be doing next... the PDA lists multiple tasks... the map is huge... wild animals are jumping out of the dark at me... I'm going to wait until morning light so I can figure out whats what.

| Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - GOLD Same here.... Got a free copy yesterday through a SNAFU. No CD key - however it seems that's only for online play. If you install the current patch, it'll degrade performance somewhat. Quote:

| Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - GOLD Well I've made it to Cordon... the military are a bit of a problem here... Place looks very familiar except its seems brighter, sunnier... and the Stalkers seem much more optimistic, care-free and organised than I remember them...
