| What is/are the oldest game/games you "fire up" and play? I find myself doing the original Heretic periodicly. I think it's the color and the stained-glass that catches my eye. Favorite levels: The Cathedral, The Mauselium, D'Sparil and I guess there are others. Also Descent I. Anyone do Doom or Spear of Destiny? |

| Bubble Bobble!!! ...you know it? By the time it was out on coin machines (back in the mid 80`s),I loved it I could play all over the stages to final and the shopkeeper was going crazy that I didn`t throw any other coin!!! I still play it a little on my nephew`s playstation but the real magic one,was in coin machines. There are more others that I really enjoyed to play sometime. In a more recent games,I liked very much "Myst". |

| Pfffft Scott Adam's adventures under a TRS-80 emulator on the IBM - circa 1979. Also love Time Trek, written by Josh Lavinsky, also for the TRS-80, circa 1978. |

I think you are going to take the prize here for the oldest game (but only because I'm not going to enter my "Poker" program I wrote for my TRS-80 or "Football" for the Coleco). Congratulations! | |

| traveler.. 1994, it was lucas arts first cd-rom adventure game which took full advantage of cdrom technology, DOTT had a voice track, but full throttle had it all. a seemless integration of animation, painted backgrounds.. and 3d rendering. The game also features some of the best voice acting and talent to date, and a story line that dosnt quit. It also has a very memoriable sound track. The only bad part about the game really is the game is rather short, NOT counting the 3rd "section" of the game which consist of driving around in a rendered race like mode where you have to do battle with other bikers to get there "parts". That section is really agrivating and can take a long time if your not a quick and slick button clicker. you can find some screen shots and a review of it at gamespot: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters...197406,00.html this link is an old but good fan page that has sound clips of 2 of the "never-ending stream of cool one-liners" of the game. http://members.aol.com/drdestryer/throttle.htm and lastly heres a real nice fan page whith char descriptions and a buttload of screen shots. http://www.firetiger.net/throttle/ Edit: Gonna add another link here... as FT also got a voice acting award on gamespot.. http://www.gamespot.com/features/ten...ing/page8.html Last edited by JeffMD : 08-18-2001 at 02:56 AM. |

| Funny you should mention that... I love the simple coin-up space game called 'Gyruss'... I wasted pretty much cash on that arcade machine... Then I found Mame.. A fantastic Arcade emulator... I know MS puts out 'arcade classics' for a large amount of $$$ but all of them are remakes.. They don't feel the same... I found some of the original games for Mame like Gyruss, 19xx, bubble bobble 2 and they do play identical with the same athmosphere!! It's a great feeling to have the same arcade experience right on your desktop without wasting money! heheh I do still play some other PC oldies like 'Starcraft' , etc.. Quote:
