I may needlessly be 'ultra-conservative', but when it comes to flashing my BIOS, I only trust AFUDOS.

I was a little wary of Asus Live update but after using it several times on a test system I have found it works good (so far).

Along with Photobug, I also only use AFUDOS to upgrade the BIOS-- and have a spare BIOS chip in case of problems that has the last working BIOS. That said, 1019 seems the best. PTB

Flashed many times using LiveUpdate... never had a problem... even downgraded BIOS with it... no probs.... yes, for Asus motherboards, not Asus video cards.

No arguement that 1019 is best if you had a Prescott. But since you have a Northwood, I would say that 1011 (1012 for a P-board) is best because starting with 1014, Asus (in their infinite wisdom) reduced the UDMA mode's max setting from 6 to 5 (and for some unknown reason, Asus no longer provides 1012 or 1013 for the C-board nor 1013 for the P-board)!

Yes, but there's the onboard Promise controller!
