| Go to this link and at the bottom you will see a Qualified RAM Vendor list. This does not mean if the RAM is not on that list that it wont still work. These are just the ones that they tested and qualified. I have older Corsair TwinX PC2700 stuff and it works fine on that board. Here is the link: http://www.asus.com/products/mb/sock...d/overview.htm

| NP, there are not a lot of people that have this board it seems. I think it kind of snuck out there under the radar. I doubt we will see Tomshardware or Anandtech review it. In fact I can't find any reviews on it. I would review it but I'm lacking in a couple areas. I don't have a 800Mhz FSB P4 and I don't have DDR 400 RAM. No way without a cryo type setup would I ever be able to overclock the 3.06 P4 I have to 200 FSB unless I could unlock the clock multiplyer to set it to lower than 23, not sure how to do that on a P4, only on the Althons.

| Maverick i also have the P4C800-E for several weeks now and cannot find a review anywhere. Seems like Asus almost has a blockout or something. Anyway I also love the board, but am waiting on a 800 processor also. Seems nice and stable to me. I took my 2.26 to 2.90 with this board, was stuck at 2.65 with 850-E. Hope to see a review soon. |

| Does anyone know currently if there is any memory out there that is not compatible with the P4c800-E? I am currently looking at buying the board along with the 2.4c and 2x512 of pc3500, just haven't decided yet on the brand. |

| Thx a lot for the help!!!!! P.S. I will have a sound card and a network card in PCI slots, I want to use a RAID card because then I would not have to run any of my componets on the fly (have 2 things on one ide cable) Because 2 of the 3 slots will be used for the hard drives! then the final one for a cd burner so when I add a DVD burner i'd have to put 2 on a single IDE. P.S.S Do intense gaming and..... thats about it. |

I have a pc4800 deluxe aswell just wondering shouldnt the read and write speed for serial ata be 150 MBps? and the ide 133 MBps? they are the standards for serial ata and ide ata-133. surely the pci cant slow them down that much? as the scsi raid 320 runs on pci and gets 320MBps transfer rate. Just wanted to ask another thing aswell this RMA thing with asus If i want to go to a pc4800-E Deluxe I can send my pc4800-dlx back with rma as a trade in type thing? | |

| Call Asus's RMA number, 510-739-3777x3 and raise a stink. Don't get off the telephone til they send you an e. Goodluck.

| Brian, Can't answer your questions about the throughput of the drives cause I don't know all the intricacies concerning "theoretical" throughput vs actual. I do know that these are the highest rates I've ever seen for disk drives in systems I've built. I also know that the PCI bus does carry overhead that reduces the performance of SATA drives. I'll know for sure once I hook 'em up to the ICH5R and look at the differences with Sandra. I did read a review on an Australian OC site (search on Promise vs ICH5R) and the ICH5R was a bit faster. Not a ton but appreciably faster. My issue is that as I capture video from my DV camera via firewire I want the best thoughput I can get. Haven't looked at the Intel site lately to see where the 1394 port runs (PCI vs CSA) but that won't make a diff since the drives I'm capturing to will be on the ICH5R. Concerning the RMA, I just bought my DLX from NuTrend 2 weeks ago so they gave me a RMA, no questions asked. I did, however, hear their cash register ring as they told me about the 15% restock fee. That is well published on all the pages as you go through your order and checkout. But, seems a small price to pay (about $34 + $6 shipping) to "trade-up".

| Didn't even know that BIOS was released. Its not listed on the website yet. Hmm oh well I will have to try it out. What does it fix? Hmm this is only on the German site and not even on the Taiwan site yet. Not sure I want to mess with it.
