My p4c800-e runs like a champ, no install issues and botted right up at 270fsb/ddr434 right off the back...my previous board the 8knxp choked several times and ran at the most at 266.. but with the 8knxp its just a matter of a bios fix but knowing gigabyte i do not have the patience to wait for them, they take forever.

| I have not seen any difference yet. They are listed as 1009.001 beta bios. The readme is in German so I'm not sure what it fixes.

| Ah the finally posted the 1009 BIOS on the downloads page. Here is what they say it fixes. Do not use Aflash.exe to update BIOS Please update to V1008 first, then update to V1009. Update BIOS to V1009,please use EZFlash or Afudos.exe. Fix Maxtor 6Y120M0 YAR51BW0 Serial-ATA hard disk drive cant be detected problem. Update Promise RAID ROM.(New Promise RAID driver V1.00.1.30 is also needful for improving performance.) Fixes a problem with a Maxtor Serial ATA drive and improves the performance of the Promise RAID controller by updating it to a new ROM version, but notice it says you need to download the new drivers I mention earlier in this post the v1.00.1.30 released on the 30th. BTW sense I was already updated to 1008 I just used the Asus Update utility in Windows and updated to 1009 by using its Flash BIOS from File option. I will have to benchmark the Promise RAID ATA 133 Stripe set I have to see if it actually did improve the performance though.

Just use the ASUS Update. . The Winodws based Flash utility. It's the easiest of all of them. . .

Keith, I also am playing with the "E" model . . . . FSB242 is not too shabby for a 2.8C w/ memory at 1:1 OCZ gold 3700s? If so, make sure you have the memory voltage set to 2.85V, and timings should be 2.5-3-3-7. They should do 250FSB without a hicup. . . .

ASUS must be telling people to hold off on the reviews until all their older P4C800 Deluxe inventory is moved off the shelves. On a side note, anyone have any success getting ASUS to exchange a "defective" P4C800 Deluxe board for the P4C800 Deluxe -E board? Im just a little bit ****** that they pulled some crap like this.

| Hawk thanks for the reply, i was hoping for the magic 250 but cant seem to get anything stable beyond 242. I do have the 3700 gold and settings as as you recommended. Let me know if you discover any of the turbo or ect.. settings to be a hinderance to overclock thanks |

| Hawk / Keith77... As P4C800E owners, a simple question... should I RMA my IC7 for one of these? I don't mind the extra cost, as this board is going to have to last me...

| Sorry guys, I'd like to bud in for a sec... I'm building a system, and want to now if any compatibility problems exist with this config: ($309.oo) ASUS P4C800E-Dlx ($290.oo) P4C 2.4Ghz (SL6WF) ($270.oo) 2x512Mb DDR400 Samsung ($135.oo) SB Audigy 2 OEM ($129.oo) PSU: ENERMAX EG465AX-VE (W)FCA $1133.oo + the inevitable TAX! This is Cnd funds.... a few components are cheaper if I order out... but I would rather deal with home if RMA issues imerge. I have to keep my GF3 V8200Ti2 for this system (atleast for now) Unless better ram will offer stability, I just can't justify the extra cost. (HyperX 2x512 DDR433 = $430.oo) Stability is the biggest concern, but O/Cin' will be done P.S. Anyone know if this HSF is any good? Other wise it will be the Zalman cnps7000alcu.

| I'm planning on purchasing the P4C800-E when Newegg gets a new shipment in. What do you guys think I should get for memory. I wanted to stick to Corsair but do not hear to many good thinks about their new PC3700. Would it be better and wait for Newegg to get more PC3500 in? I plan on getting the 3.0GHz. chip with this board and would like to get a stable 3.5GHz. overclock out of it. |
