Re: ASUS ROG Maximus II Formula motherboard

Which still begs the question: why not one of ASUS's own products? I can't grok the logic of this one. Taken one way it would indicate that ASUS has such little faith in their own product that they won't even use it on their own motherboards. Taken another way, they're reinforcing the image that Creative is still the best choice when it comes to PC entertainment audio.

Re: ASUS ROG Maximus II Formula motherboard

I don't get the logic of not using the CMEDIA 8788HD chip, and doing an 8788HD card when ASUS and Creative don't get along.

Yet, Creative cards are still good audio cards, they just need to get the lead out and come out with decent drivers, and fix bugs in said drivers, as well as audio applications for their lineup of soundcards, including the Audigy 2 on Vista.

Maybe ASUS is just being inscrutable.

ATINUT here's the link to the ASUS Rampage Formula page, also you can find the rampage mobo under the product list, the Rampage Formula has hit the shelfs about a month ago :
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Well, in any case, the odd thing is that there is no ASUS ROG x48 DDR3 mobo, I would get one for sure

This board sadly isn't even available yet, through most distributors in the United States, but is available through Newegg.com.

Well it's available in Europe for quiet some time ( I've got mine on April 4th ), or should I say for about a month or two
I live in Croatia, and my board came even with preproduction bios 0110 or something like that, since the first release bios ( 0219 ) became available about two weeks after I've got the mobo

And that's what triggered the posts.

Why is Asus announcing a new motherboard which is NOT the Asus X48 DDR3 Rampage Extreme? The DDR2 Rampage Formula is on the shelf so come on Asus, drop in the DDR3 slots and the new X-Fi card and the other few thing that the DDR3 version has such as eSATA ports and announce that the Rampage Extreme is on its way, not something else!
