Core-Voltage on P4B266-E

Hi there!

I´m not sure about this, so I wanted to ask all of you: I´ve a P4B266-E and a P4 1.6A, its all running like a charm @2.2Ghz.
But i was wondering about one thing: I changed the Core-Voltage to 1.625V, but MBM and PC-Probe tell me, its more like 1.58V. So far, so good, as far as I read here in the forum, thats pretty normal.

But when I start a CPU-intensive task (full CPU-load) like Prime95, my vCore drops to something between 1.48 and 1.52 and stays between these numbers. When I stop Prime95, the Voltage goes up again to 1.58.
So, is this a normal behaviour or what is this? Any similar experiences?

Greetings, Matador

same problem

I have a 2.0a running at 133 (normal) = 2.667 512MB 2-2-2-5

Vcore set at 1.775 (bios) (mb shows 1.74)

28º idle
46º full (sometimes reset automatically at full load before 30 min.)

I have 3 fan connected to the mb (needs less power than specified in the manual). Before read your post, I think that this the consumption of fans was the reason of the estrange falls in vcore (1 and 2) at full load (drop from 1.74 to 1.65-1.64 ).

Running at specs is the same. Vcore drpls from 1.50 to 1.44-1.46 at full load (42ºC full)

I'm thinking in change PSU (fortron 300 W) to other of 400w (fortron too). I have 5 hd 3 wd1200Jb (2 in raid 0) 2 maxtor 540d. I hope this solve reset problems when OC. At 2Ghz don't happens. After some test using just 2 HD and 1 fan connect to mobo I wonder if I need 400 W, because still happens the same issues

Advice me if you know something more about this issue

Pd: Sorry about my English, I'm from Spain.

Thanks

Hey,

I have the same problem you stated...
When I set Vcore to 1.75V in BIOS it shows 1.71V in MBM5 and when I start Folding@Home, the Vcore lowers to 1.68-1.66V... so I think this is a normal behaviour...
BTW what BIOS version are you running? me it's 1006 Beta2
