| Did you RMA it directly to INTEL Steve or go through the distributor where you purchased it...I'm only asking because I have read threads about how difficult INTEL was to deal with on RMA and that they required you to go through your distributor for the first year.

| Miles -- I sent it back to Google. I bought it from these guys over the net. They have been very cooperative, no problems at all (so far).. In the meantime, I rebuilt the former AMD system. Ahhh, my old friend. It's old and slow but it works well.. If I wouldn't get stuck with a nasty restocking fee, I'd tell Google to keep the intel muck and let me stick to good ole reliable! Steve |

| Well I don't know what was wrong with my Audigy card. It wouldn't install drivers properly. It was working after I finally got the cd drivers installed but would not update. I looked in device manager and it said something like PCI/IRQ 18. LOL. I thought it was suppose to be on IRQ 5. Anyway the card now sits in the last slot and appears to be working. I had to download and install about 15 seperate drivers, PITA. Called Creative to try and buy a new driver CD but there not available yet. Anyway I don't have anyother problems. Surprisingly I haven't seen a cold boot lockup in quite awhile. I actually started looking at what ASUS offered there for awhile. LOL. |

| I'm so happy with my 875PBZ that I just bought another one today. I'll have one board for the even days and one of the odd days......

| After numerous reinstallations, mice, keyboards, different memory, and some BIOS management, I will be saying goodbye to the D875PBZ. Keyboard functionality in “DOS” and in the BIOS is still erratic. As well, the occasional reboot will simply produce a black screen during this indeterminate state. This is most unusual because the fan on the nVidia 5900 Ultra spins at it highest RPM during this interruption. The now tattered reset button only remedies this phenomenon. The additional change I will be making to this configuration is the replacement of the Enermax power supply with the more capable PC Power&Cooling 510 Deluxe. I can only say that these inconsistent abnormalities are exactly what Intel was referring to as errata. I can say when using the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256, I did not experience the lockups during boot-up nor did I see the strange hang-ups during resets. Perhaps the 5900 Ultra is drawing too much power or not getting enough. I will most likely grab the Asus P4C800-E and two kits of Kingston 1024MB memory (2048MB). This is like a bitter divorce… Last edited by realdieu : 08-01-2003 at 10:28 AM. |

| Ahh dont sweat it Redlieu. You tried the best now try the rest hehe. The funny thing about this board is it was soooo good when it started out. I don't know whats going on with it now but if it worked before it'll work again. Anyways I have the PC power and cooling PS 510. It's great. I still have cold boot lockups though. Don't worry about that reset switch, it should handle about 100K toggles lol. Well be sure and post all your experiences in here with that new ASUS board. I might end up getting that myself. |

| I have hope that things will sort themselves out, but I can certainly understand being frustrated with this board's oddities. So unlike an Intel board. Currently, I'm back to 6-2-3-3 memory timings to insure I don't have spontaneous reboots in the middle of a mixdown. I'll live with not being able to restart from Windows but I can't have a system that reboots itself while I'm working. I know there's a root cause to this that's just out of reach. If I could only figure out what it is... |

| Yeah I've had probably about 4 spontaneous reboots in all. Not enough to really annoy me. Usually happened during opening or closing something, not in the middle of a word document. Sometimes when I come home and first power on I get the no post but usually holding down the reset for about 3 seconds brings her back up. When I do a restart from XP and it doesn't post then it's a little hairier getting it back up. I've got my new jumper extender cable(R) hanging out in the back but haven't had to use it yet. |

At 6-2-2-2 I can restart and cold boot all day, but the system instabilities (spontaneous reboots) make it difficult to work. Currently, I'm at 6-2-3-3. No stability issues, but no ability to cold boot or restart from Windows. I have to use the reset button. So, for me, that's not the secret. | |

| Memory timings on D875 board I am running Mushkin Black (purchased before they went to level 1 / Level 2 stuff). My timings are 2-3-3-7 with Bios P09 and I have no boot issues with this board. I have a second system with Corsair 3200LL (SPD timings of 2-2-2-6). I have memory timings at 2-3-3-6 on Bios P06 with no boot issues. I am a little nervous about upgrading Bios to P09 on this system. Can I flash the Bios to P09 without setting timings back to SPD? I have always used Express installer for BIOS and never an issue.

| Y'know, if it's working I wouldn't change it. I'm beginning to think that I have a defective board, but I'm out of the 30-day return window with Googlegear. I'm still hoping that it's a BIOS issue (since I see no evidence that my memory is defective) so I'll keep updating when a new one comes out. I'm also still waiting for a reply from Intel. |

| Since I got my new board I've not had any cold boot issues. As I mentioned in another post, I am building another machine for my Brother-in-Law tomorrow with the D875PBZ. I'll let you know how it goes. So far the score for me is two boards no cold boot issue and one with. I am beginning to think Intel had a bad bunch of boards. The board I sent back was obviously bad. Along with the cold boot issues, I had a lot of trouble with the onboard LAN. Windows XP was really flaky with it as well. When I installed the new board I did not do a fresh install of XP and so far so good. |
