By the way, I had alot of good advice too from some knowledgable people in here before I bought my board also. Posts from NAD, Prometheus, Rediluei, MrStevo and others really were a benefit.

Hi, I know there is a parallel thread running in the BIOS section, but for anyone who is only following this one, Intel have now released a further BIOS update (08) which can be found at http://developer.intel.com/design/m.../bz/bz_bios.htm They say it addresses the following: New Fixes/Features: . Added the ability to enable center spread-spectrum host locking via BIOS setup option. . Fixed issue where Event log failed to clear on a reboot using a custom CMOS utility. . Addressed an issue where a synthetic stress utility froze due to an compatibility issue with USB legacy support. Probably worth installing IMHO. -David-

Hi Mr Steveo, I am afraid to say that I still don't actually have one of these boards in my posession, although I made the decision to get one about four weeks ago now, and duly placed my order on 6th June. The supply situation here in the UK is hopeless at present, and although I am dealing with one of Intel's main trade distributors in the UK, it looks as if I will have to wait a bit longer yet, before I actually have one in my hot little hands. Nothing I have anywhere yet read had persuaded me to switch to another make or brand of board, although I have used many Asus ones in the past, and am currently 'running' a P4T533. I have all the other bits and pieces lined up ready to go, including a nice Intel P4C 3Ghz CPU, 2 x 512 Mb modules of Kingston HyperX, a couple of 120 Gb Maxtor Plus 9 SATA drives, a Hercules 3D Prophet 9800 Pro, MS wireless mouse and keyboard etc., etc. It's going to be a very smart 'all black' system, in an Antec Sonata case, and I have high hopes for it all... now all I need is that board! I could probably get hold of one quicker by paying another £40 ($30) or so, but I do have my principles! -David-

Quote from MaximumPC Review of the Alienware 51 "Alienware went with Intel’s D875PBZ mobo, which won our Kick *** award last month. It comes with onboard-everything, and even allows a 5 percent FSB overclock. But the real gem is the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra. We tested the card at both stock speeds (450 core/425 memory) and slightly overclocked (475/437.5). Alienware says it will overclock the card at the factory “by customer request” and fully warranties anything it ships, OC’d or otherwise."

Hi, My new board finally arrived today... although I had to change suppliers first! Unfortunately (well sort of!) I am off on a week's holiday tomorrow, so the new build will have to wait until I get back. Something to look forward to anyway! -David-

I would say nope. That is exactly what I get. If he does +4% burn in and fast mem timings he should hit the 18.2K area and if he OC the Radeon to 420 core (it'll do more, some have 450 and higher) and 360 mem clock he should see 19.2K.

| Hey, could some of you guys put up some Sandra reports and Sandra benchs? I have been talking to a couple of guy over at Corsair HoH and they are having problems with Sandra telling them that their PAT is not working, their buffered mem bench is low, etc. I have seen no barometer to compare. Thanx, Mike.
