mmmmm sounds tasty...(this is my gourmet tuna melt)

1/2 tuna ,1/2 Campbells mushroom soup (right out of the can) and a few chopped green onions ,mix it together and put it on some sharp cheese on 12 grain bread (sourdough is good too)...sprinkle a few crushed chili's on it and broil it till it browns......

Chunk light is ok in our house....we have a whack of kids so we buy it by the case LOL

For the one year anniversary of this thread I finally got around to installing BIOS P22 in my 7 month old rev 301 board. I left P16 on it because I had no probs but I got the first cold boot error ever with this particular board yesterday so I flashed to the new BIOS. It boots about 5 seconds faster.

7500 posts in this thread too.

Cheers Ralf, I have not had any cold boots with my new board either. Only had one or two problems after changing memory timings. Once was with IDCC. My comp always boots into Windows. Usually it is from S3 but I try to do a cold boot at least once a day. About the only thing I watch for nowadays is temps because I have a 3.4EE @ +4% and 2-3-2-5, 2.725V. But I have not had anymore problems there either since using the Exos.

I wasn't counting problems with my old BX board but if the D875PBZLK continues the kind of stability it has now for another 6mos, then I would say it has to be the best. The old 850E was good to but I didn't have it too long.

All has been very quiet on the PCN and BIOS front also. No new PCN in over 3mos. For any boards actually. There was one new PCN last week but it was for the 845 or 865 and was only for a cap that was made shorter by the heatsink.

7500 posts is definately a lot. I find it really easy to come in here nowadays. Hardly any questions to answer and no problems to discuss. I've just been adding better and better hardware to go with my system but I don't think any of it is a well designed as the mobo it sits around. Besides the sharp new Logitech Elite keyboard I recently got, I am trying to get this little gem to match the rest to my system color.

Here's to another 2500 posts. Maybe by 10K we will all have a 303, PO22, P4EE, and Exoses lol.

Hi Zepp - I really don't make much money doing this - however it keeps the mind sharp and I have met some very interesting people. I was offered a "full" time slot doing this at first, I declined as it would take the fun out of it.

Most of the builds are repeat users who like stability, plus I let them watch me if they bring donuts and they can see what a perfectionist I can be. Cheap and effective advertising, although I gained a few pounds due to Krisp Kreme

Regards,

Jim

Talking Coleski's Back!

Welcome back Coleski! After all the time you probably spent in the ocean the Cadiz spill's mess will be nothing compared to trying to scrub coastline after you

Congrats on the new house. It sounds great and I do hope everything will work out for you and yours. Really like both the workshop and the dedicated 'puter room

Your hang glider looks pretty neat, but is so small didn't know ya were 2 feet tall

Take care and if ya can make it up to the South Rim, will see ya there otherwise will be in contact after a couple of weeks.

Cheers,

If they like stability, they came to the right board, PBZ, though the Intel 865s are pretty good too. Quite nice that our puters are stable If ya can keep the malacious software at bay, this is the easiest computing I have had... Thanks Intel

ROTFLMAO - Jim T's 'puter shop - Rate Schedule - Labour $25.37 an hour - Labour $37.57 an hour if you watch plus a carton of Krispy Kremes - LOL

A while back a KK factory opened about 25 minutes south of my abode. Had to venture down there to see what all the hub-bub was about.... OMG .... A KK hot out of the oven/fryer is one step cloer to heaven!!!!

And speaking about heaven - last night was a SALMON night! This time it was a slow charcoal fire...salmon had blackening spices rubbed in...put some apple chips in Weber, and placed fishies away from the coals for 25 minutes to get flavor and then last 20 minutes over the now not so hot coals, turning frequently - neighbor smelled and had to stop over to see what was cooking - he thought it was the best salmon he ever had and needless to say there are no left overs as Zepp with great modesty pats himself on back! and it was good!

Cheers,

Zeppski

Please, please keep eating those Krispy Kremes!! We build all their hoods (that go over the donut fryers), and are currently building at least one store package per week. We've slowed down a little -- at one time it was 4 stores per week, just out of my plant. I bought a couple hundred shares of their stock when they first went public -- best stock purchase I've ever made, as it has split twice since then, and last time I looked, it was in the $50's again. Of course, growing up near their first and only store (at the time) in Raleigh, NC had me addicted to them at a very early age. I knew their donuts were awesome, but who'd have ever guessed they'd do this well? It's just donuts, fer gosh sakes. Thanks once again to my idol, Homer Simpson.

Hi Bill

Don't worry, I am addicted Ate them the first time in NC when I was in the military - was glad when they opened-up out here. I still jog about five miles a day, don't know if I do it for the KK's or the natural high.

One of the reasons I was able to retire early from my full time job - was the "killing" I made on KK's stock. First time I ever bought stock enmasse, I was lucky!!! It's down now due to the Atkin's dogma - that won't last.

Regards,

Jim

Hi Zepp - We're telepathic.

Big George and I had Costco marinated salmon last night. It was great. I am going to do something with your rate chart - I like that. May knock the prices up a bit though, afterall, this is California.

I am sticking with the Intel's as I do this part time and I really do not have the time to keep up with everthing. I would have mental overload if I started with AMD. I just had too many bad experiences with them. More than likely it was VIA. Most non-gamers do not care anyway. Intel still has the name recognition!!!

Tonight I have to drop-off a repaired box at a Chinese restaurant - guess what'll I'll be eating, I'll help you out - Dimsum. That falls in second place right behind KK.

Regards,

Jim

Well I installed my new AeroCool red aluminum fans and am very pleased. They only put out slightly less air but are majorly quiet. So quiet that I had to attack my 92mm fan Pabst inside. Ended up switching to a Panaflo and using the Zalman Fanmate. Now I can't complain. I'm running in Mode 2 and there is no difference in temps. I have been through several fan replacements/mods with the Exos and these are the best so far. I recommend them to anybody who is looking to replace the stock fans. They also appear to be a very high quality fan IMO. No regrets at all for the $13ea. pricetag. Shoulda listened to BillC sooner but being on the conservative side it takes me awhile to jump to something radical.

Well should be an exciting next two weeks for me. My new monitor is getting shipped the second the seller receives the money order which I mailed to him last Monday. Also ATI X800 XT's are starting to show up so I may be getting mine within a couple of weeks. NHB in the house got his and showed some pics of the control panel menu's. The card is default at 520MHz core, 560MHz mem, and his was running at 48C vs. 73C for my old XT. The new 4.6 CATS that are out also utilize the temp and Overdrive menus again which I did not see when I had the 4.5's and the X800 Pro.

So Zep and Jim, what did you have for dinner?

I had shrimp and rice with celery cooked in a wok(sp?).

Having some burgandy marinated Salmon tomorrow or Friday.

Hi Sandog - glad things are solidifying for you. Since you asked - I had Dimsum for dinner, specifically rice-paper-wrapped shrimp and scallops. Tomorrow is my favorite in the whole world - meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Think I'll go d/l the 4.6's now

Regards,

Jim

A non-sequitur, if I may...an article at Lost Circuits gave rise to the thought that adding another 2x256 of DDR to my current config of 2x256 Mushkin Hi-Perf Level II would be advantageous.
Here's a link to the Mushkin I'm thinking of adding:
http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushki...ct/View/991153

And here's a link to the Lost Curcuits article that leads me to think that filling all four slots with 256MB sticks would be pretty rockin' for my workstation:
http://www.lostcircuits.com/memory/2gb/

Like I said, I already have 2X256 of the Level II and according to this article filling the other two slots with this new product would be an acceptably good idea.
