At the time I had PAT enabled with PO5 the four sticks would disable PAT and of course buffered and unbuferred scores went down a bit. I seem to remember getting 50-100 points less, not much. I think with four sticks CPC/1n rule has to be disabled which use to save some time selecting banks. I think I read in the articles about this that it did not cost any real desktop use slowdown having 4 sticks.

Also I don't worry about this thread going under. If people don't post anymore then thats fine with me, I am at a point where I don't need support right now. Later though with a new board I might come crawling back lol. This thread has been great but has to go sometime. I appreciate everybody sticking around for so long. It was great and I don't think another will ever come here like it again.

PAT is indeed disabled with four sticks but my performance with Adobe Audition and Ozone 3 is quite a bit better. Both programs snap through tasks significantly faster.
I'll check into the CPC/1n setting, but things are stable and faster than they were before.
I'm happy.

Nice receipt, by the way...good price on the XT...

TQ,

I would say that if you can run for over an hour in benchmarks then you do not have a voltage problem either. My four sticks use to crash within 20min. of use, usually sooner.

I should have the new ATI card and monitor tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

By the way, I still have not received my copy of Acronis Ready Image I ordered through the link in here.

I think things are good. My ninety minute recording session with Adobe Audition today went smoothly and Ozone mastering times were short.
No crashes, no glitches, no long waits for files to process.

Wow. Mrs. TQ just gave me her blessing on purchasing a 6800 Ultra this fall.
I put the argument to her this way: Which is the better option, to buy a 6800 Ultra (sorry, Ati but this time I go back to nVidia) or buy a 6800GT and two additional 512 MB sticks of Mushkin Black?
I put the argument before her and listened enraptured to her justification for the Ultra over the GT+the additional DDR.

...of course it helps that I bought her a really nice diamond tennis bracelet for her birthday back in April....

God, I love this woman.

So you gave her a choice between comp hardware or comp hardware? Pretty sneaky TQ. She gets to feel good making the decision and you suffer the consequences lol.

The 6800 is an awesome card and I'm sure great drivers will be backing it up.

I've got my pixel test program, GPU waterblock, and RAM sinks all set up for tomorrow and Thursday.

Heh...you know, I would feel guilty except for the fact that she enjoys PC games as much as I do.
She can spend a good five hours straight playing the game of her choice (at this time it's Sacred) whereas my back and shoulder gives out after an hour or so.

Maybe we should start a new thread "What game does your wife spend all day playing?"..... My wife is addicted to Kyodai Mahjong and Sims (she alternates)

Hahaha, why didn't somebody tell me Acronis Ready Image was a download? I just checked on my order and found a download link. I didn't see anywhere that I bought the download version when I paid for this and received no emails telling me so.

Sorry for the really noob questions, but Sandog, you look like the man in know with these mobos.
And 505 pages of post is a lot to trawl thru...

Basically, I have setup my new pc with the Intel D875PBZLK mobo, got a singlular beep so all is well,
but I get a non bootable disk message.
My questions are these;
Firstly I have a singular 200gig SATA drive, I assume if I plug this into the SATA0 port, would this be OK?
Secondly, I would like to flash the bios to the lastest version, but I also need to install the SATA drivers and also format the hard drive. Would I be right in assuming this is the right order to do things?

I have managed to install all of the hardware, but I'm not sure how to install bios, sata drivers and O/S.
The mobo didn't come with a manual, and I'm sorta stuck..
If anyone could offer any info / links on how to get over this little prob I would be greatly appreciative.

Again, sorry for the noob questions, and Thanks in advance to all you helpful gurus out there.

Cheers,
auditri

You need a floppy boot disk to format your drive and partition it (or bootable os cd), heres Mr Steveo's ever popular guide...a must read!

Operating System / Software Installation Guide

Still running my v205 no problems.
