Do not use that program. It is inaccurate and a waste of time...

I dont know for sure myself. But based on what people in the forum have been reporting, you should be able to use 3.5 + RAID 0 without the RAID ROM update.

Well, I hope this iteration of BIOS splendor does remedy the cold boot problem with the D875PBZ. I don't think my system has ever booted properly. Thank god for the reset button...

My board has sudden warm boot issues.. Every time I restart from within Windows, the system would not POST and monitor shuts off.

NOW, suddenly it doesn't do this anymore.

It used to do it everytime I warm booted. This weird behavior seems to be introduced after upgrading to P08. Hell, even during the upgrade process the system failed to boot back up.

FYI

Just got a reply from INTEL Support asking about Prescott support for the
D875PBZ...

->Product: Intel(R) Desktop Board D875PBZ
->Product_id: 951
->OS: Windows* XP
->Bios_version: P08
->Processor_manufacturer: Intel(R)

->Issue: Will the D875PBZ motherboard support the new Prescott?

ANSWER:

Hello xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.

As a general corporate policy, the Intel(R) Technical Support staff does not comment on unannounced Intel(R) products, future technologies, or technology trends. When new technologies are released, information concerning them can be accessed through the web site:

http://developer.intel.com/design/product.htm

Up to the present day the list of processors the Intel(R) Desktop Board D875PBZ supports is available at the following link:

http://support.intel.com/design/motherbd/bz/bz_proc.htm

NOTE: Processors not specifically listed by type and rated speed may have requirements that are not supported by the desktop board's design. Use of unsupported processors may result in improper operation, damage to the desktop board or processor, or reduced product life.

Thank you for your comprehension.

Darn! - I sure am looking forward to Precott's 16kB L1 and 1mB L2 caches!
Guess it's "wait and see" time until an official/verified statement on current
875 based boards. I'm on day 24 and will return the 875's I have...
what a bummer!

Hey that's funny, yesterday I got almost the exact same reply to a similar question.

Here's what I asked:

Quote:
->Does the 875PBZ support VRM10.0? Is it FMB1.5-compatible? Will
it support the Socket 478 Prescotts?
->##ERIGNORE##
and here was Intel's answer, about 10 days after I sent my original email:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.

Unfortunately, the requested information pertains to products that
have not been released yet. We are unable to disclose any information
on unreleased products, since the product may change, making
information given to you inaccurate. Once the product is released, it
will specify which boards can work with that product, and which ones
cannot.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need further
assistance.

Sincerely,

Caleb M.

I had that exact same warm boot P08 issue too. I have a thread about it here (somewhere, it's been moved around since the big forum reorganization over the weekend). I did fix it and the details are in that thread.

Sandog (& others!),

You don't have to wait any longer!

See New BIOS for the D975PBZ-072203

Your prediction was right Mr Steveo... top man!

Tanks, UDAMAN

I keep forgetting. Is CPC Clock Rule (clock/1n) suppose to be enabled or disabled? I have two sticks of 512MB DDR.

Well, this "9" BIOS seemingly allows me to turn on my rig without the war-torn reset button. Perhaps Intel fixed errata 1000 on this board...

Update!

Intel BIOS 9 does NOT play friendly with my configuration. I still cannot boot into WinXP without depressing the reset button.

Also, my Microsoft wireless keyboard has no Function key operation in Windows or "DOS" mode. I have tried two wireless keyboards (Logitech, Microsoft), two wireless mice, (Logitech, Microsoft), and a Microsoft wired mouse and wired IBM keyboard to no avail.

Though it could be anything, I have given Intel and its many BIOS' ample time to fix this issue. This is the first board that I have owned that acted so odly with bootup and USB devices.

Sorry fellows, but I cannot wait to get rid of the D875PBZ. I'll have the Asus P4C800-E shortly...

Hi Realdieu,

Sorry to hear you are still not happy with your new Intel board... has anyone else experienced similar similar problems?

I am hoping to use a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop combo with my board, so will obviously be trying it out in DOS mode first, as it is a completely new build.

(Just need the monitor now to finally complete my system... hopefully it will arrive tomorrow!)
