About OC - are you saying get 667 if your going to bump the host burn in percentage by 20% ? I am not too savvy on OCing.

important note: RAM is then overclocked by whatever the "host burn in percentage" is... so if you set +20%... the DDR2-800 BIOS setting runs at 960.... and DDR2-667 runs at 800... so set speeds that your RAM can handle

Hi Guys,

I do have a D975XBX, and it overclocks very very nicely (Read my Sig)
It does support DDR2 800 perfectly, there is the option in the bios to do so.

I have tried it and it works. You can overclock my things without the OC debug
short, IE pci --> 40MHz, General OC --> 50% (Overclocks FSB, MCH, VDIMM) all
at the same time. You can up all voltages except VCore (Need the OC Debug
Short to up voltage to VCore).

The best method to just OC the CPU is to short the OC Debug, then take your
FSB from 800 to 1066 or 1333, also you will need to tke the VCore up slowly
from the standard 1.4v till the minimum highest your CPU needs to run at what
ever FSB you have set. It is by far the most Stable MOBO to OC.

I recomomend it to anyone and everyone who wants to use an Intel CPU, it
also has 4 SATA II (Raid 0,1,5,10) and 4 SATAI (Raid 0,1,10) which you can
still plug in SATAII drives, just that is will run SATAI. It has got 3 PCIe SLots,
Supports SLI & Crossfire. It to me is by far the best Intel MOBO Around.

To anyone who wants to run SLI on this MOBO, there are Hacked Nvidia SLI
Drivers available (I have them) also I have read that with the AMD/ATI merge
Intel and NVidia have entered again negotiations for SLI cross licensing to
Intel MOBO's (Exciting Stuff).

I wish I had the TWIN2X2048-6400C4, but I only have the TWIN2X2048-5400C4,
so I cant get the timmings tighter than 5.5.5.15 running them at 800Mhz

I wonder if you could even tell the difference in performance between the timing of CL4 and CL5?

Only in benchmarks, like SisSoft Sandra, other wise no really, app's still feel
the same, games still feel the same. Only see a slight boost when benchmarks
results come up.

I wonder what makes a 975 $270 while an 965 comes in at $115? That's a rather large price difference.

The only time I even "felt" a performance increase is when I went from "plain vanilla" RAM to the Corsair I have in my sig. now. Braggin' rights is cool but overkill is a waste.

Nvidia to soon provide SLI support to Intel

Monica Chen, Taipei; Carrie Yu, DigiTimes.com [Thursday 27 July 2006]

Now that it has the resources of AMD behind, ATI Technologies is confident that it will be able to produce more compact, faster GPUs while being to reach the channel more effectively, and the graphics chip maker has indicated its rival is now standing alone in the market.

However, industry sources have indicated that Nvidia will soon announce that it will allow support of its SLI technology on Intel's chipset platforms, with the two companies already having met to discuss the partnership.

Intel met with Nvidia recently to seek ways to avoid any negative impact sprouting from the recent merger between AMD and ATI , the sources indicated.
