Thanks, "3 of 7". I don't use SLI, yet. But this is good news for the D975XBX board (I hope it will get this functionality in the near future) and for future Intel products.

I guess I'm just being discriminated against. Bummer. Nevertheless, I can't get to any articles on the site. And it's too expensive to sign up for. Just like always, I'm on the outside looking in. hehehe

Hi guys, I recently built a new system, the specs are,

X6800 (Conroe Extreme)
Badaxe M/B (rev 304)
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400
7800GTX (Kepted from my old system)
Tagan 480

I've been having some problems O/C'ing, Infact I cant even puch the chip past 3.2
gig , bored lastnight I actually read through the m/b manual and noticed an intresting point,

Quote:
"NOTE,
Do not use the 2x2 to 2x4 adapter when using an Intel Pentium Extreme Edition proscessor, or a cpu that is not running at it's default settings. Doing so may result in damage to he desktop board."
So what does this mean ? b-cos at the moment I am using the 2x2 to 2x4 adapter, I am using an extreme cpu (although not pentium) and I am also not running the cpu at its default settings , perhaps this explains why I'm having problems o/c'ing my cpu,

how have you guys got your psu's plugged into the Badaxe ?, are you using the adapter ?

I hate to say this, but what it means to me is make sure your PSU has a 2x4 connector. Many of the newer PSU's have this connector. Good Luck with your rig - how does it run at stock?

yeh it's pretty dam nippy, does super PI 1M in 16s , bit different from my p4 550 (3.4), I think that managed 1M super PI in about 48s or so lol, any games that were cpu limited/bound the peformance increase was really nice, i'd say nearly 40/50 percent in some games compared to my old 550, saying that tho, gpu limited games really did'nt improve that well, for example, Oblivion, cod2, fear, I'm still using a 7800gtx and it's starting to show it's age now (I do use maximum AA & AF and highest settings in every game tho) I'm trying to hold out until DX10 gpu's come out but I'm really temped to get the nvidia 7950 .

Thanks for the info.

Hi there,

well i've the 975xbx (bad acxe) and i hope someone can help me.

I've overclocked the system and the voltage settings vor the ddr2 modules must have been too low. Now the systems hangs in m-mode (94 i think is the hex code he hangs). Normal mode is unable to use, the board always reboots. Same problem with recovery-mode -> the board always reboots.

I've already tried to put out the battery, for more than 30 minutes ... No change, same problems as descriped above ...

Does someone knows how to reactivate my 975xbx?

did you move the BIOS reset jumper.... go back into bios... load defaults... then move the reset jumper back?

You mean the maintenance mode? Yes, he freezes on the first screen showing the Intel background and a Hex-Code 94.

Taking out the battery over the night didn't helped. This board is expensive but that's all ... The worst board i've ever used/seen.

I'm afraid they won't. Cause it happened because of too high FSB ... The RAMs didn't get enough voltage and the board freezed. Normally you set it back in maintenance mode, but in this case, as i wrote above, he freezes in m-mode ... Well i don't think my dealer will take it back ...

The non existent cmos jumpers also didn't helped me, i've shorted the metal contacts ... Didn't helped.

I would bypass the vendor and send it right back to Intel.

I just picked a pre 304 revision board up for a song yesterday, should be here in a couple of days. If it works well enough with my 950 D I may even try the mods when the day comes that the CD2 chips are plentiful......

xpla, you didn't tell us what hardware you are using so we can only guess at things. Since you were working with memory at the time I can suggest two things to try. 1) Unplug all but one memory DIMM and try to boot into maintenance mode. If your memory is high speed stuff (like PC2-6400 or higher) you may have to resort to number 2) Use an old memory DIMM, such 533MHz, so that it requires low voltage to operate. Again, use only one DIMM and try to boot into maintenance mode.

Just a suggestion, giving as much detail as you can about your system along with a problem post will help you get usable responses. Especially give your CPU, memory and such. But a full rundown of your hardware can only help. us to you.

Thank you for your reply ...

Well i've already tooked out the battery for about 12 hours, no CMOS clear .... *** !!!!!!!!!!

I only have Corsair Value Select DDR2 - 667Mhz, i tried to only put one in the Channel A Dimm 0 Slot -> Same problem (reboots and freeze in maintenance mode ...)

CPU is a D805. Everything which is not necessary is disconnected from the mainboard ...

I'm so angry about this board ... A simple CMOS clear not possible ...
