| Here's a quirk with the DP965LT... when you press the power button to turn it on, it comes on for 2 seconds, turns off for two seconds, then comes on, stays on and boots normally. All automatically. What the...? At least it seems to work perfectly with S3 suspend/resume. |

| I noticed those boards have an 8 pin ATX connector. Do you have to have a PSU with an 8 pin? Or does the board come with an adapter? The PSU I ordered only has a 4 pin. Thanks for any info

Now I don't see any technical reason why a wake-on-LAN suspend setting should affect normal non-suspend powering on, but who am I to understand why BIOS writers do things! :-) Interestingly this system is for a friend too. Now for myself I would buy the best Intel board available, but for a friend who just wants something that "works" and is "reliable" the DP965 seems to fit the bill perfectly. Once I got by some initial pre-installation weirdness as well (so much for bleeding edge, eh?) the system seems rock solid... it hasn't crashed or thrown a fit once during my initial setup and tweaking. And that's one of my guidelines: I've had many popular boards that gave me a bit of trouble during O/S installation, and they've always turned into problem childs. And every board that *hasn't* given me early issues has turned out to be rock solid for its lifespan. My current D955XBK has been the best motherboard I've owned, next to my D875PBZ (I had both the D875PBZ and an ASUS P4C800-E Dlx... I gave the Intel-based system to an uncle and kept the otherwise identical P4C800 system for my father - which turns out to have been a mistake, since the Asus sometimes shuts off for no reason, while the Intel continues like a rock... grrr). | Where can I find the latest updated version of the D975XBX, I just picked up an E6600 and feel this is the best MB currently available to use with it.

| Maybe you guys can help me figure this one out. I just got an Asus P5WD2 (955 chipset) board on a trade and pulled the D975XBX board out so I could test the Asus. As soon as Windows was loaded and I started to install the drivers I noticed a big difference, the Asus is much snappier. I am using the exact same hardware as follows: 955 XE, Zal. 9500 2 X 1024 Corsair Value @ 333, 5-5-5-15 EVGA 7900GT CO SC WD Raptor, 74GB for OS Maxtor 300GB 16Mb Sata storage. Windows XP Pro PCP&C 510 Express Overclocking done only with the Multi, at 14 and 15, I ran PCMark05 and these are the results: Intel- @3.7 = 6826....@4.0 = 6617---went down? Asus- @3.7 = 6983....@4.0 = 7269 Now why did the higher overclock on the Intel board result in a lower score? Both were tested directly after a fresh windows install, reg clean and defrag. One thing I did notice was when I pulled a 950 Presler out of the Intel board and put the XE in several days back the boot time was considerably slower. It seems to hang (no monitor signal) for 20-25 seconds before loading the splash screen. I upgraded the bios to the most current released with no difference, and now have the latest beta in it. |

| I have read a huge amount of threads concerning this MB and most are quite complimentary. I've read one recently that concerns me though have any of you experienced this: Either running Sandra 2007, Speed Fan, or Everest with a vCore higher than stock will in some cases cause a BSOD, but in all cases will cause the vCore to be returned to stock settings. (I most cases this was with a Conroe, not sure if it applies to any other proceesor or not) Has anyone here experienced this?
