Hey Sandog

I hope its released soon (BAII), as seating on the sidelines throwing peanuts is getting boring.

One thing for sure - a Zalman 9500 is on my NE wishlist!!!

Hi guys. I have an update on the audio problem with the rear MIC.

According to my board's specification update the D945GNTL, Intel specifies there is an errata that causes audio quality problems when rear mic is used. Sandog mentioned he had a problem with his D975XBX that he had very low mic volume.

(Well how does Sandog's low mic volume and my audio quality problem with the mic similar?? Because sound quality is S-N-R, or Sound to Noise Ratio, and good audio quality means the usable sound is louder in comparison to noise. Sandog's low sound output, and my high noise, is really the same thing)

Anyway, it says on the paper that it'll probably be fixed in the next board revision. I thought that meant I was done with, but when I read further, it said front panel audio has no problems with the noise(but my case doesn't have front panel audio support, oh well new case I guess :P).

So if people are having problems with the 945 boards with audio, just try the front panel audio.

*I don't know if anything other than 945 based Intel boards will be ok by using Front Panel Audio. I also can't confirm whether using FP audio fixes the problem, cause my case doesn't have FP ports*

That should give you some idea of how old I am...I remember live announcers reading sponsorship cue cards during afternoon soaps.
Uh...not that I ever actually watched afternoon soaps as a kid...

What Video Configuration is best to use in the bios,
Primary Video Adaptor set to "Auto" or "Ext PCIE Graphics"??

What is the difference? Has anyone experimented with this?
Thanks...

TQ, I also remember "...Twenty Mule Team Borax"..

LOL I have no idea what Twenty Mule Team Borax is =P but then again I'm not well-informed about TV pop culture; don't watch much tv lol. I really dug that Dark Angel show... Jessica Alba *rroowr*

I'm curious about this Bad Axe II, is there any write ups on it, or any official announcements on Intel's site?

I'm going to make some calls tonight, I might just cave in and get a Bad Axe for my sisters after all; since the mobo has such an active thread here, and quite the following, I'll feel safer knowing all the support I'll be having

*munches pop corn and waits for the next episode of "TQ and the Bad Axe"* =P

I have to thank peter42 'cause Mrs.TQ says she enjoyed receiving "the flower"...that is to say the Zalman 9500 was delivered by FedEx today.
(It was Peter's suggestion that we go with the Zalman.)
She called me at the office and said "that's one big effing flower"...

You know, it's pretty cool being married to someone that gets as excited as you do when new parts arrive in the mail.

Interesting that they did not use the OEM HSF.

You should be able to connect the SATA optical drive to any of the SATA ports. I'm pretty sure you have to have RAID disabled for whatever one you are using. I would probably just use the Silcon image port though since there is no performance gain either way.
