Intel Audio Studio

I just discovered something I thought I would pass along in case other Home Theater PC users like me had not noticed.

IAS shows up in Media Center under programs and it has a great 10foot interface! You can switch from digital audio to analog, change most any settings. I will start using it now, it will save me having to go to the equipment closet to change from stereo analog (home audio) to digital surround, tweak the bass etc.

I know this isn't for everyone but if you use media center it should be great.

Re: Intel D975XBX (Bad Axe)

I believe there is a new Sigmatel audio driver at the bottom of the drivers for the BA2 and WinXP.

Re: Intel D975XBX (Bad Axe)

Hi guys,

My system is now running day and night since last week , under stresstests, games, music... and i didn't had a bluescreen anymore

Seems like it were the blue connectors (the drivers I think) that caused my bluescreens..

I'm now gonna install vista 64 bit again, let's hope it keeps running good

I wanna thank all you guys for giving me tips and helping me out!

Dieter

Very happy to hear this.
Please, keep in mind that, the Vista 64 does not work with unsigned drivers.
If Intel does not sign his drivers, you may have problems again.

Re: Intel D975XBX (Bad Axe)

Thanks - was anxious for an update - I have been having some lock ups on the windows screen. Hope this resolves the issue. Sometimes when the bar is moving across the windows startup screen it will just stop and lock up the system. I have to shutoff and restart. Sometimes it takes me a couple of tries to get to the main logon screen. Does not do it every time.

No - I am hoping the new BIOS fixed that. It started locking up in Nov / Dec. Perhaps wishful thinking..... Anybody else have this problem?

No but after the previous bios update I was having rare but random BSODs related to USB power management i was not able to figure out. Honestly I was not sure if windows had an issue due to my new sony camcorder or if it was a bios issue.

Re: Intel D975XBX (Bad Axe)

Had some fun playing around with my BA2 and X6800 last weekend. I ran 3DMark06 at default clocks 2.93GHz, 533 FSB strap, and 5-5-5-18 memory and then ran at 3.46GHz, 667 FSB strap, and 4-4-3-9 memory and I only achieved a 450pt increase in 3DMark06. Only about a %5 increase. 3DMark06 must be heavily GPU dependent and system clocks don't matter much. Moral of the story, get the fastest video card you can afford and leave your system at default clocks for stability unless you have a low-end CPU.
