The X-Fi Plat and Extreme Music both have 2MB of X-Ram vs the 64 MB of the other 2 cards.

I am really set with what I have. The 64MB is cache I believe to help make the card rely even less on the CPU. I think CPU usage is already very low so I'm not worried about not having it. Also games have to have code written to take advantage of the extra RAM.

Exactly, the extra RAM now is useless. Game designers need to program the game to take advantage of the extra memory. Right now, the memory is useless

They have this officially on the Gigabyte site, doesn't look all that special, besides the crossfire support, it's 955X. As long as it supports Conroe, thats all I care about, longevity of the platform itself. I just sold my older 925X board, so im gonna get one of these now with a presler short term.

That thing looks like it came from the Enterprise NCC-1701 (post-refit) engine room.

Thanks for clearing this up.
I'm thinking of upgrading my Audigy 2zs with the X-Fi music. I thought it hadn't any ram at all so i'm happy that it even has 2mb. I'm not considering Fatality right now cause here it costs about 120$ more (double the price! ) and it's not really beneficial for the time being...

The difference between the Audigy 2 and the X-Fi is as dramatic (possibly even more so) as the difference I experienced when I went from my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz to the Audigy.
A fabulous choice that you will love.

According to this source, Quake 4 will support many of the features of the X-Fi, including X-Ram support for those cards that feature X-Ram.
