| Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) ello, been a long time since I've been on here, the new DX38BT board, I'm sure I heard a while back that they was going to bring out a DDR2 version ? is that true or did I just imagine that, the thing is I've used Genuine Intel CPU's and Motherboards for over a decade now but I'm really put off paying out the premium on DDR3, is there any intel boards other than the DX38BT that support the new 45nm 1333fsb cpu's ? Edit - I've found some other gen intel boards that support 45nm and 1333fsb but they only have 2 pci-e slot :-(, I guess there won't be anymore ddr2 extreme boards then ?. thanks for any help. | Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) They don't tell but it is a fix because the new stepping is so sudden and in rhythm with delayed quads coming out. Nothing serious though I would bet. Probably making it go a couple hundred megahurtz faster than the 800MHz faster it already goes. You could monitor the new data sheet to the data sheet for the original QX6950 to look for a difference in errata. |

The RAM came a day early so I had somebody pick it up so I could install everything today when I got home. I've ran into a few problems. I can't install the video card in the upper slot because the water block screws are being blocked by the NB HS. That causes another problem. The pump is in the way of the @#!% video card power connection. I got that worked out for now. That caused another problem though. I can't use the lower SATA connections because the pump is in the way of them now. I finally get everything connected. Now the @#%^ thing says there aren't any hard drives connected even though they show up in the BIOS. I tried to update the BIOS but the directions on Intel's website are f-ed up. They don't work the way they are supposed too because the file I need is a zip instead of an exe like the directions say. I hate this non-floppy bs. I am resetting the BIOS right now. I am calling it quits for the night if that doesn't work...

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) I got it working now. It wouldn't work with the install from my previous system for some reason. It said it couldn't load the OS. ![]()

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) Hey ford freak. I have had this issue with different motherboards where you cannot load an os from one computer onto a new one. I think it is because of the specific drivers for that computer make it not work if you transfer it to some other computers. When you get all running, tell me how your new system works. I may get the next extreme motherboard if it ever comes out. Im still with the d975xbx2.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) FYI, Intel has the new dual-socket board up on their website since yesterday . Intel® Desktop Board D5400XS Overview Also the X48 board should be available by the end of March and then will come the mainstream P45 around July. The P45 will be similar to the P35(as fast or slightly faster) but will have reduced thermals due to a 65nm chipset die. It will also have two PCI graphics slots (x8) for Crossfire and I suppose one will do x16.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail) I would not want this new d5400xs even with all the "power" it has with slots for two quad core processors. The lack of ddr3 support and lack of support for next get video cards, pci express 16x 2.0, seems like it will be left behind within six months!
