I agree with you that Newegg is becoming a rip off, espicially when I can at the local computer shop get most of the items, such as motherboards cheaper than what Newegg sells them for most of the time, and this includes memory also, espicially since the price drops on memory.

Good luck on getting the parts for your upgrade.
Thanks I'll need the luck, still waiting on a video card, reviews should be coming on ATI's new cards soon. The Asus P5E3 Deluxe is a nice looking MB, well layed out, I really didn't want the Wi-Fi one but that's all that is out right now, I still can't figure out if the MB will post with the QX9650 so I can flash the latest bios, (bios 0601 just came out today to make the QX9650 work in the P5E3), I really love to be one of the first, especially when I really don't know what I''m doing.....LOL

I would go to the ASUS website, and check the official ASUS forums on the P5E3 motherboard.

What I like about my motherboard, is that I can load the latest bios on my USB Flash memory stick, go in to the bios and use EZ Flash to flash my bios. The 1205 bios for my motherboard, enables me to run 1333FSB cpu's on my board, but I haven't seen a need to get a 1333FSB cpu.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

I pre-ordered a couple of ATI cards. The pre-order was taken away and I am unsure of the status right now but anyway, I paid $414 for the two cards (when shipped) which I read ATI has lowered the price to less than $200 a piece. But when these cards do become available which should be tomorrow, I bet you they will sell for a lot more than what I paid for them.

On topic, the previous posters mention no coming of the QX9750 1600 FSB CPU in January. I haven't heard this yet but it seems from the above chart that the CPU is not all that cozy on the X48. I wouldn't be surprised if Intel dropped it but then we wouldn't really need the X48 then.

I dont understand these limitations, what is it trying to tell us regarding the 1600FSB?
Hmm, is there dual channel memory configuration with X48, or is it single channel?

Thanks, I did go to Asus website and to there forums and one of the mods answered with this....

"It will probably be able to POST and bootup with a UCode error. You just press your F1 Key to get around it.

This will not hurt or damage your new $1200 QX9650. You can then EZ-Flash to 0601.

Make sure to flash the new BIOS version using the EZ-Flash Method!!!! "

Sorry I should start a P5E3 thread...

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

Are you advertisement agent for Intel or ?
This motherboard work only with DDR3 type of RAM. Only!
Do you know how much this type of memory cost? ~488$ for 2GB.

Please, do not do these things here... to inform about the technical issues is one, to promote selling the mobo-is another.

You always pay more for latest technology, it's all in how you look at it, I payed $350 for my Corsair 3500LL pro memory 2 years ago!!!!...I just got 2 gigs of Corsair 1600 DDR3 for $391...What ever floats your boat....

Who made you a moderator or admin of this website. You obviously have no concept of what goes on here, including passing along pricing on hardware to people.

I paid over $300.00 for DDR2 800 memory in June, now the stuff sells for under $170.00.

I usually do not post prices but nobody even has this board yet. These posts are to show the reader that the board is finally available in retail. Until people start buying the board there will be very little to post in here about it.

Also here is some RAM with good reviews and I believe uses Micron memory. About the best price you will find at this time.

Wow - I've seen 4GB kits of DDR2 for ~$70 after rebate. Can't fathom paying $380 for half that.
