Not sure which CPU yet. It will be a quad core though.

BTW, you do know what that "IN" at the end of your RAM designation stands for?

No I don't, maybe Specmike might chime in and let us know if he see this?

I know that the DHXIN does mean it Supports Intel Extreme Memory Profiles ...XMP....

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

The DX38BT is at Newegg for $210 now.

Newegg.com - Intel BOXDX38BT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

I might just go for the 38BT, q6600 g0 and a cheap 2gb ddr3 1006 set for now. I'll be happy if I can O/C to 3ghz.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

Newegg took their time getting the board in. And why is its predecessor, the d975xbx2 the same price? Seems a bit odd...

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

FYI, the DX38BT is now 199.99 at TigerDirect and it still comes with GRAW 2. I am very tempted to get it right now.

Welcome to Corsair :: Press Release

The IN means it was tested and optimized for the Intel Extreme Series motherboards as well as the XMP memory profile.

http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datash...0C7DHX%20G.pdf

OCZ also has two varieties. One is tested and optimized for Asus boards and the other is tested and optimized for Intel boards. The Intel version has the XMP.

OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum Dual Channel Enhanced Bandwidth Edition

OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Intel® XMP Ready Titanium Edition

I have never used any preprogrammed SPD. Are they really needed?

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

I bought the dx38bt on newegg, after shipping its only 2 bucks more than tiger direct. Now I need for find some ram. I'd go as slow as 1066. I'd love if anyone would tell me if its out there for cheap! Like less than $150 per gig.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

I saw this last week and noticed the EE notebook CPU's. If this page is correct if appears the Penryn's get a lot hotter with a higher FSB. Notice the Quad-core mobile processors, Extreme Edition has a TDP of 45W This is a 12MB L2 cache part like the QX9650 only the FSB is 533MHz.

List of future Intel Core 2 microprocessors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also for those interested in the new Intel EE heatsink, here is some more info.

Re: Intel DX38BT/DX48BT (Bone Trail)

Thanks Ford Freak, I bought 2 Gigs of the G skill for $204 after shipping. The voltage says 1.65, and intel says the board, dx38bt uses 1.5volt, so I hope it works!

You can DL the Intel DX38BT product specification guide and check how high the memory voltage settings go. You will be able to go up to +2.0V on the
VCSM voltage or whatever Intel is calling it now on the BoneTrail even if you don't own an Extreme Edition CPU.
