Hi all,

I haven't followed the thread for quite some time as I have been busy. But if you forward any updates you would like to see on this thread to me, I will do my best to get them updated ASAP. Thanks.

I know it has been awhile since anyone has posted here.

So has anyone used this guide for installing Vista?

I am going to build myself a new system based on a Asus P5B Deluxe, E6600, Ati Radeon X1950 Pro, SB Audigy 2 and Windows Vista Ultimate. Already have mostly everything just waiting on memory and video card to arrive.

Just wondering is there anything to watch out for while installing Vista.

Just be sure to get the latesr drivers and allow Vista a few reboots to index and take stock of things.
I have to ask, why get a DX 9 graphics card if you are building a new rig for Vista?

I agree, this site haslost something, not a lot of posts,

Does Ati make a DirectX 10 card?

I have looked at the Nvidia cards on Newegg but the ones I seen are out of my price range. So I will have to wait for the prices to come down. I have tried Nvidia based cards in the past. Had some issues with some. I purchased an eVGA card not to long ago for another system. Had to return three of them due to bad memory. So I purchased an Ati and have stuck with them for now.

ATi's DX10 part, R600, will come out in March. Nvidia should be launching their mid-range DX10 cards based on G86 around the same time.
Nvidia G86 to launch around CeBIT time
