Hello all I have asus p4c800E-dx with a p4 3gig cpu. My bios is 1014. My question is where is the setting for Memory ratio. all my ram setting are 266.333,400.or auto. I tried to over clock the cpu and did not have any problems with that, but how are these people raising the speed of the ram . Tia swifty

Performance Acceleration Mode: Enabled
DRAM Idle Time: 64T
DRAM Refresh Rate: 64µsec

.....after alot of testing we here found that to run the best.......

......the best you can do with this mobo is run it at 400 (1:1). You cannot overclock the ram........

thanks for the quick reply. this board runs very well but one thing I noticed is that PAT works well but when turbo is enabled I cant even boot this is a list of my hardware:

BBThumper, are those recommendations for most any cpu or were you referring specifically to the 3gig one you replied to, i am new to o/cing and have received great advice here and am always looking for more, i have not messed with the settings that you referred to....yet...any advice is welcomed

......try manually setting up your ram to its timings. Example- Cas2 3-3-7.....

No it didnt work. I cant even oc using that 30% feature. I think that maybe its that my psu is to small. thats ok, thanks for your help. swifty

Using 30% on the AI Overclock Tuner would have given you 3.9GHz which is a little on the high side. 20% is probably more feasible. But it's still better to use manual settings.

R404 modded Mach2, with additional second phase of cold Finnish winterair Thou it perfectly stable, without this "second phase".

Great thread, looking for a recomendation for 1G ram
for a p-4 3.0 on p4c-800e-dlx. Will be using for video
editing, and not sure how much I will be overclocking due
to concerns about dropped frames with capturing and
rendering.

The 3.0 is a sl6wu batch 3350A503.

Most likely run w/o overclock, or 3.3 or 3.5
My knowledge from reading the many posts, is so far,
I should go with 3200 if run it w/o oc,
use 3500 for 3.3 or 10% oc
use 3700 for 3.5 or 3.6 or 20%

I have read that I should stay with 1:1 for video editing.
Also not sure how the Matrox p-750 will react to oc.

My concern or one question is, If I purchase 3700
and end up not o/c ing, or going "just" 10% to 3.3
the mem won't run correctly, as the math does not
add up?

Am I on the right track? ideas/comments.

does anyone have a 2.8C and Kingston HyperX 2x256 PC4000 (dual channel kit)?

I'm curious as to know what your settings are.

I'm an overclocking noob but I've been doing some research over the last couple of weeks.

My rig will be:

2.8C
P4C800-E Deluxe
Kingston HyperX 2x256 PC4000
Zalman 7000ALCU

I'll be using DanX's settings as a guide.

I'm going to be doing a fresh XP pro install and following the guide that Mr Steveo posted for installation order, etc.

But I'm wondering what programs i can use to test my memory to see if everything is doing OK - preferably some freeware - and what i should be looking for to make sure things are stable.

i see memtest being mentioned, and i'm thinking it's preferable to tweak the memory settings first (booting with an iso and running it before the OS installation)?

I have a 2.8c on a p4c800e-dlx but I use 2 sticks of Kingston HyperX 512megs (PC3500), air cooled slk-947U with a tornado loud as hell fan. My prob is this memory is rock stable at FSB of 218 (1:1) but my CPU can likely go much higher (2-3-3-6). I tried the sticks at 5:4 and even 3:2 but they fail memory tests at any higher FSB. I am still happy I guess running at 3.07 ghz with 1:1 memory ratio but I see these other guys running the same CPU at much higher FSB

edit- I see you will be running pc4000 sticks so hopefully you should be able to hit 230ish FSB stable at 1:1.
