| Well I've run my vCore all the way to 2.85V max setting, and it barely manages to stay stable at 283 FSB 5:4, so for now, it will have to remain 3:2. I'l try some BIOS tweaking when I get the time, I'm in another city right now on my trusy ol' 1.8A which chugs along at 2.5 and OCZ PC 1200 RDRAM! Funny thing is, I could never get that RAM to run 150MHz because the blessed P4T533 has no vDimm settings!

| ......DanX.......at the beginning of your thread, you show your Bios setting's of a setup, in particular>>> ICH Delayed Trans. : Disabled ( Delayed transaction mode for the PCI bus, Read:http://www.rojakpot.com/default.asp...1=0&var2=77 for more info ) ..............in going to the web sight and reading on, it states that you should "Enable" this setting. .....could you clarify Why you are stating that we should " DISable " this mode????

| Good question mr. Charles ! As I stated the settings represent my setup. And my setup includes a certain (quite old) Echo Audio PCI soundcard that works much better with this option disabled. In your case you should leave it "Enabled" just as stated. Thats why I made the link to rojak.. so you could decide for yourself And of course If there is anything more to this option that I'm not aware of plz tell me. Also, you can take a look here... : http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread/t-58025.html

| ........most find MPS=1.4 to be best..........Be careful when change the Idle timer and Refreshrate, I had them tooo tight once and ended up formatting because of corrupted data DRAM Refresh Rate : 64µsec ( 90%sure this is the optimal setting, still investigating ) .........lower is safer - 7.8u is recommended for 512mg of ram........ ............I have never seen any instability by running ICH=Enabled but my scores do increase with it. I never got an answer for this but this option being named ICH Delay would suggest to me its for the ICH channel and not for PCI cards......Any thoughts?..... .....thks for the thread DanX

| Once again, my settings are optimal for my computer. And I do have 1GB of Ram But of course ! if you you want to be safe keep the Ram Refresh rate a bit lower. The ICH option explanaition is so similar to the PCI ( delayed tra.. ) that I didn't bother to explain it further but here it is : The chipset (ICH) has an integrated 32bit writebuffer to give access to the PCI bus. When this option is enabled, the PCI bus works according the PCI 2.1 specifications. There you go !

| Damn handy guide sir. I just got my 2.4c and P4C800-E Deluxe a day or so ago and I'm sure this guide will come in handy when I crank up the FSB, it's running at 3.3GHz at the moment, 3:2, 2-2-2-6, so I have plenty of room to play, not too shabby for stock voltage. This is my first post here, so I though this would be a great place to start.

| DanX Thanks again for starting this thread. I think it's a great help to all of us. Asus does such a poor job of explaining the BIOS settings in its manual. We, the users, have been left to pretty much fend for ourselves. I hereby nominate this thread for possible sticky status. |

| I'll second that! Don't you just love it when the explanation for, say, Spread Spectrum says something along the lines of "Enables or disables Spread Spectrum", well thanks for that nugget of info there, sheesh...
