New to Overclocking

I've been reading alot about O'Cing and trying to take it all in. Would like to know what settings would give me the highest possible stable overclock.
My specs:
Asus P4c800E-Deluxe
P4 3.2 Ghz Northwood
Corsair Twin 2048-3200C2PT
Scythe Infinity heatsink
I believe with this memory I would be best with a 1:1 ratio. With this in mind, what settings might work best ,(VCore, VDimm, etc.) and up to what FSB speed/CPU speed could I attain?
Thanks

Help Request Advice on adding a 3rd drive

Looking for advice on adding a third drive to my p4c800e. I have two sata's on the ICH54. I imagine a udma 100 on the primary ide is the easiest, but I have a dvd burner on both the primary and secondary ide not sure how to configure. I was wondering about adding another sata, or a adma 133 on the Promise? Can you add one of those without running a raid? Its been awhile since I built this unit.. kind of rusty on the specs and the dialogue. I would mostly be using the drive for video storage. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here's what I can manage on the following rig:

P4 2.8 800FSB 512k L2
Antec Truepower 480W
2x 1Gb Corsair 3500LL modules rated 2.3.2.6
Asus Ati X850XT PE GPU 256MB
2 Raptors (original 36Gb and 300Gb)
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Plextor DVDRW

Idle CPU temp: 46C
Load (prime95 balanced testing): 65C
Case temp: 44C
I dont know what my room temperature is, but it does not feel like midsummer Iraq in there.
Memory at 1/1 divider. Timings (Corsair 2x 1Gb PC3500) 2.3.2.6

BIOS SETTINGS:
Memory Speed : 400
Performance Acceleration : Enabled
Memory timings : 2.3.2.6
FSB Speed : 233
Memory Voltage : 2.75V
VCore : 1.75V
DRAM Idle Timer: Auto
DRAM Refresh Rate : Auto
AGP/PCI Frequency : 33/66
Graphics Aperture : 256MB
Spread Spectrum : Disabled
ICH Delayed Trans. : Enabled
AGP VDDQ : 1.75

The moment the processor hits ~66C I get a restart/freeze, which is expected according to the temperature ratings provided by Intel. Isnt though the P4 supposed to drop processing speed to avoid temperature-related chip damage anyway? The memory modules are sailing through with no issues at lower clock speeds, so I dont think the timings are an issue. When idle, I do get some voltage jitters registered in CPU-Z and motherboard monitor 5, but this does cause crashes. Using prime95 though really puts the machine through it's paces. The highest I can get with overnight testing is an FSB of 233, which I think is pretty low?

Am I right to think the issue here is cooling, or do these processors not go further up than that? I run a 12" fan at the back of the case over the CPU, the Zalman at full speed, and the Truepower's variable fan speed is at full. Put simply, I've heard hovercrafts that sound quieter than that. Would watercooling isolated on the processor improve things?

I believe that needs to be enabled in the Bios but I can't quite recall where offhand.

Your temps sound pretty bad. I think 65c is very close to the threshold of what a P4 can take. Looks like you are overclocking, but only mildly. How big is your case & how well organized are the cables? You might want to try & clear up the airflow within the case. Maybe more case fans are needed? Also, how well does your Zalman perform? I'm using the XP-90C with a high flow Panaflo & it really made a difference for me.
Here is my setup/temps:
P4EE 3.4GHz
Enermax 460W (Server)
2x1GB OCZ 3200
ATI AIW X800XT
2x76GB Raptors (Raid 0) + 2x500GB Seagate (IDE)
Audigy 4
DVD-Rom & DVD-RW

Idle CPU Temp: 32C
Load: 50-55C
Case: 35C-40C

Your Temp is pretty good. Could you please provide your bios setting. It has been so long since i set mine last time and not sure if I have my setting correct or not.

Thanks,

Thanks,
The setting I was referring to in my previous post was in the "Power" section of the Bios. I'm going by memory here...
Power Management/APM = Enabled
Throttle Slow Clock Ratio = 62.5%
System Thermal = Enabled

Let me know if you wanted any other settings.I should have mentioned I'm using the Thermaltake Kandalf Super Tower. This case is larger than average and very well ventilated. This also helps keep temps down.

Thanks for your responding,

So far I have my setting just like Sterghios, but I'm concerning about the video card.
I only want to overclock fsb@212 and memory timing: 2.3.2.5 @ 2.65v.
For video card I think I would like to keep at stock speed and would like to know the setting on AGP VDDQ Voltage and AGP/PCI Frequency so i can keep it longer.

AGP/PCI Frequency : ???

AGP VDDQ : ???

Thanks,

Hey guys, does anyone know where I can buy a P4P800, or P4C800?

My sata channel 2 is dieing and I need my second HD to work. So need a new mobo. Or, I got a 3.0C and a 2.4C and 7600GT-oc and gig of good ram to sell. Though I would prefer to get another mobo, as this thing clocked at 3500+mhz is still a sweet mobo.

I just bought one on e-bay a few months ago. I was lucky to find a new un opened one. I have not checked back to see if there are any more, but check e-bay from time to time.

Question Re: "P4C800-E Deluxe" OC'ing tips etc.

Just a quick question, What kind of luck have any of you had running 4 sticks of memory in the P4C800-E Deluxe? I'm thinking of putting 4 gig of ram in mine and makeing it last a while longer. Thanks!!!

Re: "P4C800-E Deluxe" OC'ing tips etc.

I had no issues, but I did have to loosen the timings a bit and bump the NB voltage. I wound up going back to 2 sticks.

No problem here either. The rig with the P4C800E is now four years old, it is my Wifes main rig and still runs great.

I have an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard.
I have had no problems with 4 sticks of RAM. I have 3Gb [2x1Gb and 2x512Mb]...
