.......I think ICH Delay is the same as PCI Delay. Since our mobos have the ICH controller it would make sense. I always have it enabled.........been asking Adrian for 4 weeks now and still no response ................

I just about tried every frickin' setting for the memory (see my previous 4 posts and it still doesn't pass all the tests.

Can I conclude my memory can't handle a 3.5Ghz CPU???

Does anyone think it'll work when switching the vdimm to 2.85??? For some reason, I don't.

I'm figuring maybe it's best to get some corsair TWINX or something like that, or maybe buy some active memcoolers en try and push the FSB slowly from 233 to 250 running memory at 1:1....

Any suggestions, anyone??

Thanks, BBThumper. I checked the Asus website and found no info. I'll be installing my 2.4C this weekend. Will let you know what happens. I want to join all you high FSB guys.

It should be mentioned that the actual amount of EMI is no different between spread spectrum enabled and disabled, in case anyone is worrying about turning into Fallout Boy if they disable this.

Since the EMI spectrum is "spread" across a frequency band rather than concentrated at one point, it can fool EMI detectors into thinking that there are less emmisions. So the "enabled" setting is used to pass government EMI tests, and the "disabled" setting is used to overclock (since you don't want frequencies wavering when you OC).

I've never heard of an explanation like yours, but I like it!!!!

I think I'm gonna disable that stuff.

Where did you get this info?

You can use The Definitive BIOS Optimization Guide as a reference, and to clear that kind of things up, but you have to know that not every mobo responds the same way to those inputs.

Use Memtest and you'll be sure.

BTW, did you up vdimm to 2.85? That's the first thing i would do.

I'm downloading memtest right now (done).

Actually I got fed up with testing so I didn't even try the 2.85 setting. Have you read my test results? Based on that, would you say 2.85 will work?? What settings should I begin with?

Yes i have.
You should start with everything AUTO, and if it works, start tweaking one thing at a time.

I don't know if 2.85V will work, but it sure will help.

For some reason this crash-free crap doesn't work for me, I have to move the RTC jumper every time it crashes. Any word on this??

Update: sorry, it does. It's just that it doesn't do it all the time.

Without OCing the FSB, I've got the mem up to 2-3-3-7 instead of 2.5-3-3-8.....

Update: got it down to 2-3-3-5, have the bus up to 250 again, using a 5/4 divider for the mem (FSB233 and mem on 1:1, doesn't work anymore with these settings).

We're back in 3DMark03 again......

Sometimes Crash-Free just doesn't kick in. In those cases, turn you computer off, and then back on, more tha once if necessary. Works for me.
