| A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula wow this upcoming X48 based ASUS motherboard sounds like a beauty!!...AnandTech was so impressed with the ASUS ROG Rampage Extreme they have reversed their opinion of the X48 chipset completely "Early reports of limited performance improvements may have tempted you sit out the X48 release. Based on our results from the ASUS Rampage Formula, we will go on record now and reject our previous position. We will be running X48 boards in our personal systems" AnandTech: ASUS ROG Rampage Formula: Why we were wrong about the Intel X48

| Re: A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula Looks very promising. I just hope that the Technicians at Asus don't mess up the bios as they have done with the Maximus Formula and P5E motherboards (x38). Excellent chipset...but the bios releases are getting worse and there seems to be large incompatibilities with a lot of memory. Seems that the bios overvolts memory and no one seems to want to fix the issue |

| Re: A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula Other than double 16x slots, why would you want this chipset and DDR2? Seems like the P35 would be faster, cheaper and more stable. |

| Re: A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula From what I recall this board supports both DDR2 and DDR3. I'm very tempted to use this ASUS board for my next game machine. edit: might be wrong on that, but I thought I read it somewhere...

| Re: A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula As PC gaming is slowly swirling around the bottom of the toilet, I haven't kept up on some of the latest chipset tech. How much will this motherboard cost? I never would have thought that I'd see mobo prices crest CPU prices, but they just keep shooting up and up for the mildest increases in performance. +4% performance for +150% price, awesome. Keep buying! Only you can keep PC enthusiast prices increasing. |

| Re: A second look at X48- ASUS ROG Rampage Formula I would hardly characterize PC gaming as "swirling at the bottom of the toilet". Certainly consoles are where much of the the money is but when P-1 titles such as CoD4 is released on all formats that tells me there is still money to be made in the PC domain...so to speak. Also, World of Warcraft is, to the best of my knowledge, still the biggest MMO and only available on PC.

| the fact that there are still some big name PC only titles such as Crysis and the upcoming Alan Wake proves that there is still some life left in the market
