| p4 intel stock heatsinks are a bit tricky to pull off...i just put a zalman 7000A on a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't fun, had to use a flathead screwdriver to push all 4 tabs out on the bottom to pull off properly and pulled upward (thats important) low and behold it came off bringing the cpu with it lmao... Has happened to many people so i didnt freak out, actually laughed a bit (was using as3) no bent pins, just a little twist and off it came from the heatsink... I just installed the zalman with the board in (i figure most people do) fired her up and all was well.... but thought i had a 50/50 chance of doing what you did ...sucks...if newegg is where you bought it, maybe you can works something out...customer service there is great...they replaced a failing vid card for me and since they dont carry it anymore offered me to buy another...so i did and then they gave me a full refund on the old card and diff in price was 53 bucks...so a 9800 pro 128mb card for 53 bucks...not bad eh...hope you have similiar luck |
