I was using the Tweaked Cusl2 bios on my Tusl2-C to break the 140 fsb barrier. But now I'm using the 1009.006 Tusl2-C bios due to the newly implimented voltage adjustment along with "Stuffer" program to get beyond 140fsb.

Unhappy >140fsb for 4xagp tusl2-c workaround?

Which workaround for tusl2-c with 1009.006 bios with 1.26 tualatin 512k works for 4xagp at >140 fsb?
wpcredit & wpcrset don't seem to do it even though sisoft says i am at 4x.
3dmark 2001 won't run. I get hourglass and freeze just like I still have 2xagp.

Hi guys,

Ral-I am having really good luck with out using any voltage adjustments to the processor. I am going to stick with the tweaked CUSL2 series for now.

Z-is it worth it, well yes and no.If you got the cash then what the heck, right. It kicks some bootay though, I can say that much !

Has anybody tried the 1009.007 beta bios for the Tusl2-C yet? and if so did anyone notice if it cleared up any issuse with the 1.26 512K cpu? I haven't noticed anything with my 1.2.

Tim
I'm getting the 1.26 soon, but I've got the CL Audigy on order along with the Klipsch 5.1's and I hear that the Geforce 3 Ti 500 will be released 10/7/01. I'm slightly tapped for the time being. I suppose it's only going to get cheaper.

I have tried the Beta 7 of 1009 BIOS. No changes yet, the cpu voltage problem for 512K Tualatin is still there. One litle change I have noticed is that the bios shows me a Pentium III 1266B (the "B" is new) on startup.

Btw: my new RAM has arrived. It runs until 185 MHz FSB at 2-2-2 and @200MHz with 3-3-3. It's the best SDRAM RAM you can get for now, better than mushkin. It's MCI PC150 CAS2 (www.mci.de).

What ram are you using, how much $ and where can I get some?
185fsb at 222? How did you test that? Do they sell it in the states?

Hey Z,

I read it in the german hardware magazine c't. www.heise.de/ct. (The guys which made ctSPD for reading the SPD - Serial Presence Detect EEPROMs- of RAMs). They made a big RAM roundup with many RAM modules. They found that Mushkin Enhanced Rev. 3 PC 150 CAS 2 are fakes. The SPD-EEPROM of the modules shows 143 MHZ CAS 3 and in fact they have the Infineon CAS 3 chips onboard. So they were very unstable at 150MHz CAS 2-2-2.
The 185 Mhz at 2-2-2 for MCI RAM was tested with a special and expensive RAM-testing equipment. I've made an error telling here, that it really runs at 185MHz 2-2-2. I read the review again, they made only an basically functionality test at this high speed, which does not necessary means that the RAM will do it in a real world test. They tested the 128MB modules (real world and theoretically tests) and it was the only PC150 2-2-2 module without any errors. I bought 2 x 256MB modules. I can go up to 160MHz with 2-2-2. At 166Mhz it needs a CAS 3 timing. Btw: also Infineon PC133 cas2 are very well RAMs, may be other than the tested mushkin RAMs too.

They have a webshop at www.mci.de, you may ask there whether the RAM is available in USA somewhere. I don't know.

But hell, even with the new RAM I have not much luck with high overclocking the Tualatin 512K. Above ~1600 MHz the system is somewhat unstable. I tried it with 1,65V vcore and while testing with different BIOS versions, RAM timings, with/without hd controller card and so on, I had for a short time ~1720Mhz (don't remeber the exact value), but it was too unstable and I could never reproduce this high cpu speed

Mailed Mad today thought you maybe interested in reply, I'm sure some of you guys already know, but nice to share.

Hi Mad

Thanks for the bios releases, I have now changed to a TUSL2 and was wondering if there will be a tweaked bios for it soon or not at all.
I am aware of the problems with the 512kb bins, but would like to buy a tualatin, but not if I cannot O|C it!
Basically is it probably that there will ever be a tweaked bios as I am now using XP and cannot use any other agp 4x crack.

Keep up the good work

Reply was:

Yes ! it should arrive soon...

...............
Well that does it for me, I can know join the club! One 1.26 ordered now.
By the way guys, this has been a good little thread, everyone helping and exchanging good info. Hope I can contribute.

1260 to 1600MHz is pretty damn good considering it's a PIII! You"re flying with that. Thanks for the ram info, it was very helpful. You don't happen to know if they mirror the site in english?

New Tusl2-C bios fellas 1010tc.001. Pick it up here:
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIO...815ep/TUSL2-C/

I'm currently using and do not see anything different about it yet.

ZBone,

Did you connect your 8K delta fan directly to your motherboard?

As far as my 8K Delta, it does not come with a connector to attach directly to the motherboard, just a standard molex connection. Here is a site where you can get an adapter to attach to your motherboard to be able to monitor the fan RPM's without drawing any power.

No way is my system faster than a P4 2GHz w/ the 850 chipset. Personally I'm waiting for the Northwood (P4 @ .13 microns) along with the 845 chipset to support DDR ram. This should show up in a couple of months. I'd stick with your current set up until then. But if you decide to go with the 850, it's a killer rig.

ZBone(or any of you guys with the Tualatin), do you bench using 3dmark2k1? I'd love to see what your rigs can score.
