I just tried it and got the same off-the-scale result. Using a download manager I have gotten over 1 Mbps but never as high as 2.

The result you got is pretty misleading. Cable Internet speed varied alot and depend on how many people in your areas is using the services at the time of the benchmark. A true test would be to see how fast you can download something off the net. Even that can't be accurate because the place you are downloading from could be only a few hop from you. I am not familiar with any program that can accurate measure one internet speed. Basing it on file download would be one way. but won't be true all the time.

I on on cox cable and my speeds(sustained) are 3.5 to 4 mBps. With Download Accellerator Plus I see it as high 4.5 sustained. My up is 2.5 to 3. Gotta love Cox Cable in the midwest I run PcPit to test as well as DSL Reports and Speakeasy.net (Speakeasy's test are hidden now). I am at work tonight, but if I get a chance tomorrow I will put the links to the Speakeasy tests on here. They have east, west, north and south sites. Which gives you a great idea how you test to other parts of the country.
