Re: Linksys WRT54GL & DD-WRT

Well after reviewing this again, maybe I should have been a bit more clear.

I got the 89% @ 54Mb through a direct Point-to-Point connection between two buildings.

After setting this up, the customer upgraded their high-speed service, and wouldn't you know it? Their modem went RED. Blah...

FAP SUCKS!

Cold rebooted modem, router, and computer in series.
Connected computer directly to modem and cold rebooted in series.

This happened immediately after they upgraded the service, and I need to call them to see if its up and running again. I think I'll do that right now... LOL

I believe they'll have to point to a different sat for the pro service, which I've heard the pro and proplus service is unstable at best on the new HN sat.

Thumbs up Re: Linksys WRT54GL & DD-WRT

HN ended up replacing most of the system. I guess the modem burnt too, because they replaced the TRIA and modem I believe.

They reported that the system was slower than ever even with the Pro package. 1Mb Down and 256Kb Up package, and test results where 220Kbps Down and 25Kbps UP. Pathetic!!!

I researched the knowledge base and made a list of mods. Completed the checklist, tested again, and it definitely improved. Testing results varied from 550 - 700Kbps Down & 150 - 210Kbps Up during mid-day.

Anyway, they are now satisfied with the performance and the system I installed.

Just to list it: (2) HP Pavilions, (1) HughesNet Home Pro Package, (1) Linksys WRT54GL router, (1) WMP54G Adapter, and (1) 100 meter (300ft) Point-to-Point Wireless Link.
