| Loose Connection On Wake Up. I'm running a brand new install of XP Home SP2 with all updates current wired to a DLink DI-624 router with DSL and every time my computer wakes from standby it says there is little or no connection. The computer in my sig is also wired to the same router and I have no problems with it. So I'm thinking - Not the Router- Any suggestions where to start looking?

| If you go into your Nic's properties (hardware manager) and click on the power tab, you'll see a box that says allow the computer to turn off this device to save power... It's likely just taking a bit for the nic to initialize after having it's power cut..If it comes alive after a few seconds it's not a biggie... Some nics don't like being woken up from a nap and you can turn this feature off ( I don't think they really use a heck of a lot of power anyways) |
