| Migrating Local User => Domain User As far as I've found, there's really no real easy way to do this. I've done the Google searches, found that there's ways to do this that are rather time consuming. I'm wondering if anyone knows of software (that is proven) or a script that does this correctly: what I want is all things to work including outlook, passwords, bookmarks, etc. after migrating someone from a local user to the domain. I have to do this for about hundred users, but the key is that it work properly and involve minimal interaction (something that would just let me put in the domain user name, password, and transfer everything over would be phenomenal--but the key is to not have anything broken afterwards). It doesn't have to be free software, if it works and it works well buying a license won't be a problem. Thanks in advance.

| Re: Migrating Local User => Domain User Nobody's done this any other way than just manually adding them to the domain and changing the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList keys?

| Re: Migrating Local User => Domain User Since there's absolutely no reason a 100 users should ever be in a workgroup setup, you're not likely to find much info on this. The easiest way would probably be to script domain adds, login, then pull over Desktop, My Docs, Favorites etc into the new profile. I wouldn't mess with appdata personally, as it can cause a lot of weird issues. |
