Need help setting up an internet bridge (SMCWEB-N)

Hey everyone!

I bought a SMCWEB-N internet access point + bridge. Thing is I cant get it to work. I want to connect my mediacenter to it and then connect the bridge wirelessly to my Belkin Pre-n router. I have ran the setup wizard several times via a laptop I have. But after running the wizard my laptop still wont connect to the internet. I have DHCP enabled on my router, does that mean I have to have it enabled as a LAN-setting on my SMCWEB-N too? After enabling it I cant find the SMCWEB-N anymore and I have to restore it to factory settings. I have no idea what to do next, please help me out!

Thanks in advance!

I found a manual that should aid you in the installation/troubleshooting of the access point/bridge. Let me know if this isn't what you are looking for.
Go to the SMC website and select your product from the dropdown list on the right, then select 'Manual' on the right.

Hey!

Thanks for the reply! I totally forgot I posted this!
I solved this problem already, here is what I did:

The router didn't for some reason like the mixed mode my bridge was in (mixed b/g signals). I changed the bridges signal to only g and I managed to get it to work.

However, the signal and speed was so poor that I decided it would be better to buy a new router, so I got the D-link DIR-655. Works much better now, speed is way higher, although I am sometimes still getting some lag which is why I decided to buy another antenna. Haven't received it yet, but hopefully it will work great when I get it installed.

Also, installing the bridge was way easier with the new router, since the SMC and the D-Link have the same operating systems. You just push a button and it basically installs itself. I am very satisfied with my new router, I didn't realize the progress that has been made over just a few years. The Belkin pre-n used to drop my connection quite often, it hasn't happened once with the D-link, works awesome.
