Server 2003 Drivers for P4PE NIC?

I'm transitioning a box based on a P4PE to windows home server (a server 2003 variant) and can't get the NIC working. none of the drivers want to work; I've tried the generic, the XP, 2000, and NT versions.

Thoughts?

Re: Server 2003 Drivers for P4PE NIC?

I remember having a few p4pe boards and one had 2k3 on it. Ill have to see if i can find the drivers i used. Did you get the off of asus.com? If so get the xp drivers but dont install them, extract them into a folder and go to device manager and let windows search for drivers in that folder.

Re: Server 2003 Drivers for P4PE NIC?

I did grab the ones on ASUS.com...

I've tried the XP, 2000, NT, and "all os" versions, as well as the MS generic one for the broadcom chip. I've had it look, and forced it. I'm on iteration 20+.

If you have some that work, I'd really appreciate it.

If you have a spare nic put it in and see if that works with windows drivers. Then run windows updates to see what happens.

Re: Server 2003 Drivers for P4PE NIC?

I used a netgear nic in my Windows Home Server. Netgears drivers and all others I found didn't work. What did work was going to the chip makers site, in this case it was realtech I belive and downloading the XP driver for the specific chip. Working great ever since.

Re: Server 2003 Drivers for P4PE NIC?

Well it worked just fine with an old 10/100, but I wanted to use a 10/100/1000 that I had. My point was that if all else fails, figure out what chip is on the device and get a driver from the manufacturer of the chip.
