Suggestions for a new DSL Wireless Router/Modem combo?

The last two days I've been downloading updates to my digital audio workstations. One file was 181MB, then other 384. It took me four hours for the first and ten for the second. The signal was alternately fast, then slow and was frequently dropped, which required quite a bit of personal intervention.
My DSL connection's good for over 1Mbps so I'm thinking it's time to replace my five year old DSL modem and my three year old Linksys wireless router.
I'd like to get a unit that combines the router and the modem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Actually, my download speeds are rated at 6.0Mbps...while I don't expect real world speeds like that I do expect something faster that what I've seen the past two days.

Give your DSL Provider a phonecall, and and if you are leasing the modem from them, make them give you a new modem, as well as fix the trouble you are having.

You should know that in 2001, I got so disgusted with the phone company where I live and their service when it came to DSL, I gave them the bird and had a cable modem installation done, and I've been with cable ever since.

Up until I switched to cable modem, I was always having to contact a member of the board of directors at the phone company to get things done, otherwise the phone company basically didn't care.

The modem was the problem. It was five years old and was the original modem we got from Dish Network/AT&T when we switched from cable to satellite. We replaced it with a new Zoom router/DSL modem and now every problem I've been having for the last several months is gone.
I re-downloaded the 384 MB file that took ten hours in less than ten minutes.
