It should be possible. It depends a bit on how the thing is designed, of course. But they probably store the software the device is running in EEPROM, which should mean it could be updated. In that case it would probably be designed to listen to specially formed Ethernet frames or similar to activate the flash procedure.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the thing is running embedded Linux under the hood.

...I guess it pays to dig around...after finding a couple resellers out of stock and not knowing when they could fullfill an order, I emailed the manufacturer.

They just called me to assure me the product is in production and they have it available for shipping. They told me to set up the sale with the reseller and they'll ship one out to me.

So...I'll let you guys know when it gets here...
