Wireless Connection Disabled after Sleep Mode!

Morning All,

I have a P5K-E WiFi and when my computer wakes up from sleep my wifi is disabled. I have to reboot my computer to get it back. What would be another way of getting my wifi back without rebooting?

Thanks

Re: Wireless Connection Disabled after Sleep Mode!

I don't know about Vista, but with XP you simply have to open network connections (either via the Windows Control Panel, or by right-clicking the network icon in the systray at the lower right of the screen, if the icon is enabled), right click on the wireless connection icon, and select "enable."

Regards,

Need to go into the properties for the network card and uncheck the box to disable device in sleep mode.

When the pc wakes up the wireless is enabled but the icon has an X through it. I did not see any setting related to sleep mode.

Thanks

Re: Wireless Connection Disabled after Sleep Mode!

Why are you putting a desktop to sleep in the first place?

Windows is notorious for messing up wireless when coming out of sleep. Try using hibernate, if you really must.

I've seen that occasionally with XP, following startup and unrelated to sleep mode. Just disable the wireless within Network Connections and then re-enable it, and the X should go away.
