| 802.11n isn't expected to become a standard until late 2006, and likely won't shake the business world until 2007. I'd stay away from buying new hardware yet. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1668050,00.asp http://www.deviceforge.com/articles/AT5096801417.html

| re: "N" pls v. silly to block hyperlinks - add ****://*** view .commsdesign.com/design_center/wireless/design_corner/showArticle.jhtml;sessionid=Q2RSXBFWLG1I0QSNDBOCKH0CJUMEKJVN?articleID=175800604 for "N" features - add to this reduced power req'd in notebooks as I input asus 240Mbps mimo g router here in hong kong & airgo chipset has tested higher perform than atheros (have not yet released super a/g mimo) so keep eye on airgo mimo until "n" launched "officially" nov |

I personnaly don't like wireless but hey it's not for me. It's true that 95% don't need faster speeds ... isn't that what they were saying about dialup back in the 90's ...

| I don't care about the speed of N, but I do care about the range. I live in a fairly spread out home where it is difficult to get good reception all over. |

| Re: Wireless N standard ? It's been a while since this topic has been discussed. What I'm hearing is that ratification of 802.11n has been pushed back until early 2009. I'm in need of a wireless solution with that kind of range as my 802.11g is coming up a bit short and I can't wait another year or longer. Since the current field of products is based on draft 2 of the standard is it likely that the standard will change enough to be a problem for those purchasing now? |
