Re: Dell to Dump Its XPS Gaming Line in Favor of Alienware

This is good news. If anyone has seen an XPS 720 in person these are very well built cases. I would like to pick up an XPS 630 in red someday. They sport an ATX mobo tray although I don't know if you can put in an Intel board.

Dell Depot has used/refurbished cases although none are 630's presently. You can get a 720 for much less than new. I would get a used one so I could gut it out.

Re: Dell to Dump Its XPS Gaming Line in Favor of Alienware

I've had my hands on both systems but I didn't check the XPS 630 for being able to upgrade it to a standard ATX motherboard. I have done a motherboard replacement on an XPS 720 and it shouldn't be too difficult to mount a standard ATX board in there as well, but I'd have to look closer. It's a pretty big motherboard they put in there, definitely not a standard ATX board.
