Re: Nvidia Rumoured to Introduce New Breed of Graphics Cards in July.

ATI was still running on DX9 for awhile after vista was out. Nvidia and vista got launch at the sametime.

Re: Nvidia Rumoured to Introduce New Breed of Graphics Cards in July.

Nvidia released the 8800GTX before Vista was released and claimed that it was Directx10 ready. But, when Vista was released Nvidia did not have working drivers that supported Directx10. I believe this is why people wanted to take them to court.

Re: Nvidia Rumoured to Introduce New Breed of Graphics Cards in July.

Why yes, my point exactly. It surely wasn't as big a challenge for ATI to get a driver out that "worked" with Vista as it was to introduce a line of video cards that attempted to support the new OS and DirectX10.

From what I had read they did not take them to court because Nvidia finally released drivers that worked with Directx10 games.

And who was this mythical group composed of that planned to save us from the evils of nVidia?
What law firm had been retained the bring the suit to court? Knowing the shark-like tendencies of law firms I find it hard to believe this was just "dropped" because nVidia released working DirectX10 drivers. By the way, what games were these drivers tested on?

Re: Nvidia Rumoured to Introduce New Breed of Graphics Cards in July.

These links say nothing. It's just anecdotal gabble.
If this "lawsuit" had legs it would have still been running.

Feh...anyone who takes the leap into a brand new operating system and it's claims have only themselves to blame.
If having to deal with wonky drivers for a half-baked OS is the worst thing that ever happens to me (and it isn't) I'd count myself lucky.

If we had the lack of stones we have now back when Hitler was trying the conquer the world we'd all be goose stepping in Times Square.

I don't know, zap...you might want to wait on that. Although, you could always go the eVGA "Step Up" route. As long as the 9900's are released within ninety days of your purchase, of course.
