| Best Backup Software? Whats the best software for backing up not only HD's but directoies across spanned CD-R's...thanks

| NONE! ~ CDr is not a good method for backups. Anything over a few files and folders and your "spanned set" will consist of many cdrs. As often unreliable as cd burning can be ... one bad one in a set of 20 means the entire set is no good. Further, they become dated rather quickly and you can't update them. Just get an internal or external hard drive. Externals are portable, large, and come with software. |

| CYCLOPS is right. Go for an external HDD of some sort. I use a USB2 connected drive and do weekly backups and daily incrementals of the entire system using Norton Ghost. It's got me out of a hole a few times now! Using CDs/DVDs you will have to be there to switch disks. Using an external drive means the backup can be done whilst you're doing something else, like having lunch! |
