I updated to the latest 1.5 version of FireFox and now when I load Java apps, the app appears to load but the screen is blank, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling java runtime to no avail. Jave apps open and appear correctly in IE. Any suggestions?

Are all the Java plugins in the location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins? There should be 7 of them:

NPJava11.dll
NPJava12.dll
NPJava13.dll
NPJava14.dll
NPJava32.dll
NPJPI150_06.dll
NPOJI610.dll

The name of the last couple of them will be slightly different depending on which version of Java you installed. If they aren't there, Java won't work. You can manually copy them from C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin if they aren't there. Make sure that FF is not running when you copy them over.

Undoclosetab

For those (like me) who have missed the Undoclosetab (Undo last closed tab, re-open) Extension, the 1.3 version which works with FF1.5 is located here: http://mozilla.dorando.at/

TabMixPlus also has an undo closed tab feature.

I just checked NHL.com and it works (at least the part telling me it's pay per listen) with Windows Media player so:

FoxyTunes 1.1.5.4 - Control any media player from Firefox and more...

should work for you Griff.

If you use Noia Extreme, there is a matching extension for the player controls too.

FoxyTunes Skin - Aqua Bubbles 2.0 - Blue Aqua Bubbles Skin for FoxyTunes

I use Firefox as my default web browser. I have a shortcut on my desktop to my company's intranet site, but it doesn't work real well with Firefox. Is there some kind of switch or setting i can set on this shortcut so taht it opens up in IE while leaving Firefox as my default browser for everything else?

Fasterfox

Just found this extension Fasterfox v1.0.3 at http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/

It speeds up Firefox significantly, only after I had uninstalled the Tweak Network Settings extension.

No comparison. Highly recommended (in turbo mode).
