Try the Tweak Network extension, that speeds up FF considerably and adds additional threads to the downloader as well. Otherwise it could just be a time of day difference. And on broadband, depending on where in the site's download queue you are, your speed could vary considerably.

Remind me to copy some website pages that have good links for FF or post the web author's links here. I just tried Extensions Mirror and it's still down.

//~~// Edit //~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~//

Extensions Mirror is up.

Bookmark Backup Extension

Bookmark Backup

by Pike

An extremely basic extension that creates a backup of the bookmarks file each time Firefox is closed. The backups can be found in the Firefox profile directory. They will be named bookmarks.html.<day> e.g. bookmarks.html.sun, bookmarks.html.mon, bookmarks.html.tue, etc.

If Firefox's bookmarks become corrupted or lost simply find the backup for the previous day and rename it to bookmarks.html. (if necessary delete the corrupted version first).

Download from here: http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/

Re: Bookmarks Backup, there is a newer modified version available in the Extensions Mirror which saves a lot more things than bookmarks. Included (user selections of what to backup permitted) preferences, history, logins, form data, history, etc.

Does the one you refer to has another name than Bookmarks Backup? The reference I made in my previous post is identical to the Bookmarks Backup extension in ExtensionsMirror.nl.

I'm afraid we're talking about the same extension and the same version. However I didn't read anything about the additional backup up features in this extension, as you said. Hhhhmmmmmm.

OK, double click on the extension in the Extensions Panel. That will open a settings window, you should see all the options there.

PCBruiser, a great many thanks for that tip. I didn't know that. I also was able to have the backups made in another folder of my choice in another directory of my choice. Super!

I noticed many more Extensios offer additional settings, however a few do not offer addtitional settings.

Ok, can someone confirm with me that Newegg's shopping cart does not work properly with Firefox?
Nevermind, it looks like something I broke. Time to reinstall. Just figured out you have to delete your folder.
